Decades before the terrifying events of 1989 in Derry, a new group of children began to suspect their town was haunted by a deadly clown. Because adults couldn’t see the creature, the children were left to face the danger alone. A prequel could have easily retread familiar ground and felt bleak, knowing Pennywise always returns. However, the new series, Welcome to Derry, immediately surprised viewers with its first episode, avoiding those pitfalls.

Often, movies don’t directly compete with each other. Films aimed at different viewers can successfully share the market without taking away from each other’s audience, which is why releasing a movie like Nosferatu during the Christmas season was a good strategy. The ideal situation is something like ‘Barbenheimer,’ where two very different films become linked and attract fans of both – though that wasn’t intentional. The simultaneous release of Barbie and Oppenheimer, rumored to be Warner Bros.’ response to Christopher Nolan leaving the studio, initially caused some concern.

The third spin-off series launched on October 26th with the first two episodes available at once. It quickly gained a following and was a hit right from the start. After becoming popular on AMC, Talamasca: The Secret Order is now also performing well on demand, according to FlixPatrol.

It hints that his trauma – his mother falling into a coma after a drug trial and past abuse – is the root of it all. But then, the ending completely flips the script! It turns out Michelle isn’t just some callous businesswoman, but an alien who sees all of us as lab rats. And she doesn’t hesitate to wipe the slate clean. It’s a shocking twist that really stuck with me.

Every generation seems to have a comedy that captures the experience of being in your twenties, and for Gen Z, Adults quickly became a strong contender when it first aired on FX in May. Considering that was quite a while ago, fans who loved the show have been eagerly awaiting news about its future. Thankfully, that news is finally here, and the cast is now reacting to the announcement of Season 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, box office revenue for October 2025 was only $425 million, making it the worst October in 27 years. Comscore, the company tracking these numbers, points out that this doesn’t include October 2020, when the film Tenet earned theaters $55 million despite many cinemas being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. THR notes the last time October was this slow was in 1997, which saw $385.2 million in ticket sales (without adjusting for inflation). While slow, 1997 did feature the popular hit I Know What You Did Last Summer and the critically praised film Boogie Nights.

I just heard this during the IMAX earnings call, and it’s got me really excited! Apparently, Lucasfilm isn’t saying which version of the movie will be shown in IMAX. That’s led a lot of us fans to wonder if we might finally get to see the original, unaltered 1977 theatrical release on the big screen – which would be amazing!
