Our list features new installments in popular series like Alien and Predator, but some expected titles didn’t quite make it. Despite being worth watching, Wicked: For Good narrowly missed the top ten, and the latest season of Stranger Things hasn’t generated enough buzz yet to break into the rankings.
We don’t usually think of superheroes as “late bloomers,” but it’s true that new comic book characters need a strong start to stay popular. If a debut doesn’t grab fans, the character can quickly be forgotten. The Human Rocket, created by Marv Wolfman and John Buscema, had a promising beginning in 1976, but nearly faded away after a few years of not being used.
I generally don’t mind when movies change things from the books they’re based on. It’s really difficult to translate a story from a book to a film, and filmmakers often have to make adjustments. While I appreciate the effort Terry Gilliam and his team put into Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I still don’t particularly enjoy the movie. Hunter S. Thompson’s writing is simply challenging to adapt for the screen.
The 2008 fantasy film Inkheart didn’t perform well at the box office and received mixed reviews, despite featuring a talented cast including Brendan Fraser and Paul Bettany. It’s time this movie received the recognition it deserved when it first came out.
The popularity of Yellowstone is clear, leading to several spinoffs and demonstrating that traditional Western themes can still be incredibly successful. However, Yellowstone didn’t become a hit out of nowhere. Before Taylor Sheridan’s show captured the public’s attention, another series had already paved the way for this renewed interest in the genre.
The 1990s saw a boom in filmmaking, with fresh perspectives pushing the boundaries of the art form. While Hollywood remained influential, independent films gained popularity, and the growth of home video gave audiences more control over what they watched. This shift lessened the power of film critics to dictate what was considered good or bad.
Chapter 15 of JJK Modulo, called “The Forbidden Technique Unleashed,” really kicks off the fight between Yuka and Dabura, and it’s already an incredible showcase of magical abilities. Seeing Mahoraga’s Modulo in action for the first time, combined with the terrifying Cursed Technique Dabura reveals, makes this first chapter of the battle a huge win for Jujutsu Kaisen fans – though things aren’t looking so good for anyone living on Earth!
The episode ended with the Soprano family at a restaurant. Tony nervously scanned the room, worried someone might be there to kill him. Just as Meadow arrived and walked in, Tony looked up, and the screen suddenly went black, leaving his fate unknown.
In Landman season 2, Landon Lofland plays Cooper Norris, the son of Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton). A disturbing relationship develops between Cooper and cartel leader Gallino (Andy Garcia), and Cooper remains largely unaware of just how involved Gallino is in criminal activity.
Let’s talk about Tracy McLusky’s shocking death on the show. I was really struck by how brutally it played out, orchestrated by Merle Callahan’s thugs after Kyle rejected his offer. It was a tough scene, no doubt. But amidst all the darkness, there was a small ray of hope: little Mitch, Tracy and Kyle’s baby, actually survived. That little detail definitely offered some comfort, even as we were reeling from Tracy’s loss. It sets up a lot for the story going forward, and I’m curious to see how Kyle will cope with protecting his son now.
