Those strangely cute and slightly unsettling dolls continue to be a worldwide hit, and now Sony is making a movie based on them.

The 48-year-old actor, best known for his role in Dawson’s Creek, recently told People magazine that he’s been holding onto these special items for years, waiting for the perfect moment to share them. With everything that’s been happening lately, he feels that moment has finally arrived.

A new rumor suggests that Nintendo is planning a Donkey Kong movie, potentially releasing around 2028. According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, sources indicate this project is already in development. If true, it would continue Nintendo’s trend of adapting its popular games for the big screen, following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a planned Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and The Legend of Zelda film.

It’s natural for things like ideas, characters, and even lines from older works to feel outdated as time passes. Tastes change, and what’s popular now won’t necessarily stay that way. Just like some beloved ’90s anime don’t resonate as strongly with audiences today, we can expect even current favorites to feel different in the future.

Despite his changes, Wright actually has a lot of respect for the original Running Man film. This respect, and his appreciation for the original star, led him to include two subtle tributes in his new version. The film features nods to the actor who first played Ben Richards – Arnold Schwarzenegger appears on the film’s currency, and Glen Powell’s character delivers a line that acknowledges the original. Both of these details are fun, self-aware references that pay homage to the past.

Over the years, we’ve seen several different live-action Spider-Man movie series, plus animated films like Into the Spider-Verse. And that doesn’t even include all the times Spider-Man’s story has been restarted in the comics themselves.
