CBS has ordered more seasons of 10 of its shows for the 2026-2027 television year. The popular drama NCIS will be back for a 23rd season, and its spin-offs NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney have also been renewed – for seasons 2 and 3, respectively. Joining them will be returning favorites like Tracker, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Matlock, Elsbeth, Fire Country, Survivor, and The Amazing Race.
Starting in 2024, the actor returned to doing action roles with the CBS series Tracker. The show follows Colter Shaw, a highly skilled tracker who assists local police with cases across the United States in return for payment. Tracker premiered on February 11, 2024, and has already released two successful seasons, with the first half of its third season scheduled to premiere on March 1, 2026.
The Oscars expanded the number of nominees from five to ten fifteen years ago, but I now believe going back to five would be a good idea. The change was originally made to ensure deserving films weren’t overlooked, but this year’s list of nominees has convinced me that ten is simply too many.
While Wicked: For Good performed well in 2025 and had a strong opening weekend, it didn’t create the same buzz as the first Wicked movie. Initial excitement about potential awards faded throughout the season, and ultimately, the film didn’t receive any Oscar nominations when they were announced in 2026.
After this year’s Oscar nominations were revealed, many actors reacted to being recognized. Jessie Buckley, while discussing her own nomination, was also questioned about her co-star, Paul Mescal, being left out. Many consider this a significant oversight, especially since he was nominated for a Golden Globe and is receiving an Actors’ Award. Buckley addressed the situation in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying:
For almost 20 years, a new Masters of the Universe movie has been in the works, drawing interest from many well-known creatives. Several writers and directors, including David S. Goyer (known for Blade and Batman v Superman), Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2), John Woo (Face/Off), and Jon M. Chu (Wicked), have been attached to the project at different times, but ultimately moved on. Netflix almost greenlit the reboot but backed out due to budget concerns, and Amazon MGM Studios stepped in to continue development. While at Netflix, actors like Noah Centineo were cast as He-Man, but those plans were abandoned when the project changed hands. Now, after decades of anticipation, the Masters of the Universe reboot is finally scheduled for release in theaters later this year.

Netflix often avoids disappointing endings with its thriller series because many are based on existing books or designed as short, self-contained stories. However, when a show becomes a huge hit and continues for several seasons, viewers often worry the finale won’t live up to the quality of what came before.
