Following the events of Secret Wars, Marvel is planning several team-up movies, including a reboot of the X-Men film series. This new X-Men movie, directed by Jake Schreier (who also directed Thunderbolts), will bring together multiple Marvel heroes. It’s possible other team-up films will also be announced as part of Marvel’s Phase 7 plans.
Many people don’t realize Catherine O’Hara was briefly hired as a cast member on Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s, while the show was undergoing changes. She didn’t appear in any sketches that season and ultimately left to return to SCTV, where she’d been a cast member for five out of its six seasons. In a 2013 interview with Vulture, O’Hara explained she left SNL because she disliked living in New York City.

As of February 1st, Tubi added the classic Ridley Scott film, Thelma & Louise, to its streaming library. It joins other popular movies like Beverly Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy and Die Hard starring Bruce Willis. Released in 1991, Thelma & Louise features Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as two friends whose road trip takes an unexpected and complicated turn. While on the run from the law, they meet a variety of interesting characters, including a young thief played by Brad Pitt.
The documentary about Melania Trump’s activities before Donald Trump’s second inauguration, directed by Brett Ratner, faced immediate criticism. Already accused of being biased and exploitative, the film drew further outrage when its $40 million cost and Melania Trump’s $28 million personal profit were revealed. Unsurprisingly, most media outlets and individuals not closely aligned with Donald Trump reacted negatively.
As a movie lover, I don’t think the 2026 Oscar nominations are any more controversial than usual – we always have debates! But 2025 was just an incredible year for film, possibly the best we’ve seen in a decade. That means the competition for every award was fierce, and unfortunately, some really great movies and performances were bound to get overlooked. It’s just the nature of the beast when you have so many strong contenders.
It’s true that this makes those “best of” lists feel a little predictable. It also overshadows some excellent films that didn’t get the attention they deserved, either because they weren’t popular when released or came out at the wrong moment. So, instead of watching Se7en again for the seventh time, how about discovering a fantastic thriller that’s been overlooked?
Like the Masters of the Universe movie starring Dolph Lundgren, which now has highly sought-after and expensive vintage toys, the new film is also getting its own line of action figures. These figures will be based on the actors in the movie, including actors like Galitzine, Camila Mendes, and Idris Elba. The first wave of figures includes a detailed look at the new Battle Cat design, showcasing his updated armor, and a good view of the villains Trap Jaw and Tri-Klops.
The risk Disney took with animation proved successful, and the studio started consistently making movies for theaters that raised the bar for the entire industry. What counted as a full-length movie wasn’t quite the same then as it is now, but Snow White premiered at a solid 83 minutes long. World War II created challenges for Hollywood, and as a result, most movies became shorter during those years.
