Each Christmas, my brother-in-law counts all the new LEGO sets his kids receive. This year’s set is large, but not nearly as massive as the Star Wars Death Star, which has over 9,000 pieces! This Willy Wonka set has a more reasonable 2,025 pieces – still a lot, even for someone demanding like Veruca Salt.

I’m getting really excited – apparently Christian Bale is in talks to join the Heat 2 sequel! It’s coming from United Artists and Amazon MGM Studios, and they’re planning to start filming next year. The original Heat was iconic with De Niro and Pacino, and it sounds like they’re hoping to recapture that magic with another incredible cast. I’m really hoping those two legends will reprise their roles too!

Netflix has confirmed that filming for season 2 of The Hunting Wives is now underway. Along with the previously announced cast, Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery will reprise their roles as Deputy Wanda Salazar and Deputy Walter Flynn, respectively, as series regulars. Branton Box will also return as Sheriff Johnny, but in a guest role.

The new film, Wake Up Dead Man, follows in the footsteps of the Knives Out series with a large and impressive cast. Alongside Daniel Craig, the movie stars Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, and Jeffrey Wright, among other talented actors. Like previous films in the series, the ensemble cast is full of characters with secrets and potential motives, giving detective Blanc a complex mystery to solve.

Both new shows add to the story of The Walking Dead, but the way the franchise has expanded has left some storylines from season 11 unfinished. Because of this, fans continue to hope for a reunion of the original cast. Scott Gimple, who oversees the franchise, said in 2023 he wouldn’t be opposed to a twelfth season of The Walking Dead, but there haven’t been any developments since then.

Over the weekend, Adult Swim’s popular comedy Smiling Friends included a playful tribute to The Simpsons, the longest-running scripted show on TV. This seemed to be a direct response to The Simpsons having previously acknowledged Smiling Friends with a knowing reference. Here’s a look at how the shows have been referencing each other.

Disney is creating a live-action version of the popular 2016 animated film Moana. Dwayne Johnson will return to play Maui in the new movie. The trailer just dropped, and the film is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2026 – a decade after the original Moana became a global hit.

Launching two TV shows and a movie around the same time definitely increased the importance of Superman‘s performance, as its success would heavily influence the future direction of the DC Universe. Now, several months after its release, it appears Superman was the perfect film to kick off the franchise.

I’ve seen Tom Felton in a bunch of films since his Harry Potter days, like Rise of the Planet of the Apes. But honestly, it’s so cool to see him coming back as Draco Malfoy – he’s going to be reprising the role on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and I’m really excited about it!
