In a public letter, Richards warned that the current IMAX deal could harm the overall movie theater industry that allows films to succeed. He specifically criticized the exclusivity of the agreement and expressed worry about IMAX making similar deals in the future. According to Richards, this means the new Narnia movie will only be shown on a small fraction of cinema screens globally – those IMAX screens operated by theaters willing to deviate from standard release schedules. He also stated that IMAX has warned theaters they may face consequences if they don’t participate in the Narnia movie’s IMAX release.

Despite the 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel not getting a sequel yet, the producer is still hoping to continue the story based on Yukito Kishiro’s popular cyberpunk manga. It’s been six years since the first movie, but they haven’t abandoned the idea.

I was so excited to hear Timothée Chalamet mention in a chat with Adam Sandler (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter) that they’ve already finished filming Dune: Part Three! Apparently, it was the quickest shoot of all the Dune movies so far. The first one took about four months – they filmed from March to July 2019. Part Two took even longer, running from mid-July to December 2022. It’s amazing how quickly they got Part Three done!

I’m so excited about Heat 2! I heard Christian Bale – who Michael Mann worked with on Public Enemies – is likely to join Leonardo DiCaprio in a big role. It’s a mystery what parts they’ll play, and honestly, that’s part of the fun! The story is huge, spanning years and cities. It’s based on Mann’s novel, which jumps between right after the first Heat movie, back to 1988 Chicago, and even 2000 Los Angeles. Knowing Mann is producing, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Scott Stuber, gives me a lot of confidence this will be amazing. Shane Salerno and Eric Roth are executive producing too – what a team!

But … at a chicken restaurant?

The creators of South Park seem to think any attention is good attention, and it’s hard to disagree considering the show’s success comes from boldly tackling current events and societal issues. Season 28 of South Park is leaning even further into this unapologetic and playful approach, reminiscent of the show’s earlier seasons.

Christopher Nolan recently achieved another hit with Oppenheimer, a sweeping historical film that earned him his first Best Director Oscar and brought in almost $1 billion worldwide. The movie was largely well-received, but it also led to a lot of online discussion about its difficult subject matter and the moral questions it raised. Similarly, while The Odyssey tells a story from much earlier, more mythical times, the importance and cultural impact of that classic tale are likely to inspire equally strong opinions and debates.

This Willy Wonka set has a more reasonable 2,025 pieces – still a lot, even for someone demanding like Veruca Salt.

I’m getting really excited – apparently Christian Bale is in talks to join the Heat 2 sequel! It’s coming from United Artists and Amazon MGM Studios, and they’re planning to start filming next year. The original Heat was iconic with De Niro and Pacino, and it sounds like they’re hoping to recapture that magic with another incredible cast. I’m really hoping those two legends will reprise their roles too!
