This isn’t necessarily negative, as it’s sometimes resulted in more interesting stories and deeper themes. Despite some low scores on Rotten Tomatoes, 2025 actually had a lot of excellent movies that didn’t get the attention they deserved. It’s surprising to see how many well-known actors starred in films that were overlooked, especially considering 2025 turned out to be a fantastic year for cinema.

The suburb is known as “The Safest Town in America,” but Samira soon becomes intrigued by a run-down Victorian house and its new resident, Gary (Justin Kirk), who claims he’s going to fix it up. As Samira investigates, she uncovers hidden secrets about the house and the neighborhood, teaming up with a group of eccentric neighbors to find out what really happened.
As of today, the film Wuthering Heights has a 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 53 critic reviews. Most critics agree the movie is visually stunning, but it takes considerable liberties with the original story by Emily Brontë. While many reviewers appreciate director Emerald Fennell’s take on the classic, some aren’t happy with how much she’s changed. However, IndieWire noted that Fennell’s focus on the intense love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff provides plenty of compelling drama for the film’s 136-minute runtime.
Even though Mindhunter first hit Netflix nearly a decade ago, it’s still stuck in the minds of so many viewers – and for good reason. After leading us to believe a second season wasn’t happening in 2023, David Fincher dropped a hint that the story might continue as a trilogy of two-hour movies, potentially arriving in 2025. Whether or not we actually get to see more of it, Mindhunter remains, in my opinion, the gold standard for truly captivating television. It set the bar incredibly high, and it’s stayed there.
