Many people haven’t heard of The Hallow, and that’s understandable. Even eleven years after its release, it’s a surprisingly overlooked independent horror film. It’s possible that if it had come out when audiences were more interested in folk horror, it wouldn’t have faded into obscurity.
I absolutely loved getting into Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle! It all starts with Eragon, where this fifteen-year-old farm boy, Eragon, finds a dragon egg, and it hatches! He and the dragon, Saphira, become bonded, making him the first Dragon Rider in ages. Of course, that puts him right in the crosshairs of the evil King Galbatorix, and suddenly Eragon’s thrown into this incredible adventure across a huge fantasy world. It’s a really captivating story!

As power struggles erupt, everyone fights for survival, and it’s unclear who will make it out of the family’s isolated estate alive.

Viewers on IMDb are showing their increasing enthusiasm, with the show’s rating steadily rising each week. It began with a solid 8.2 for the first episode and has climbed to an impressive 9.7 for Episode 4, demonstrating its growing popularity over its six-episode run.

Universal Studios has chosen Amy Sherman-Palladino to write and direct a movie based on the bestselling novel coming out in 2025. The studio won the rights to the book after a competitive bidding process. Sherman-Palladino will also be an executive producer on the film, titled The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits, alongside producer Stacey Sher, known for her work on Django Unchained and Erin Brockovich. This will be Sherman-Palladino’s first time directing a feature film.

Director Gore Verbinski is famous for his work on the 2002 horror film The Ring and the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies – The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Dead Man’s Chest (2006), and At World’s End (2007). However, after the 2013 film The Lone Ranger flopped badly at the box office, and following A Cure for Wellness in 2016, Verbinski didn’t direct another movie for ten years.
