Before his real name, Grogu, was revealed in season two of The Mandalorian, fans affectionately called him Baby Yoda – a nickname that stuck. Disney preferred the name “The Child” to avoid confusing viewers into thinking he was a young Yoda. However, the latest trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu strongly suggests Grogu is meant to carry on Yoda’s legacy. The upcoming film is therefore crucial, not only for Grogu’s story, but for the future of the entire Star Wars franchise.

The story shifted from a physical threat—a barrier isolating the Federation—to a battle of ideas, putting Starfleet’s principles on trial. This wasn’t a fight with lasers and explosions, but a debate led by Holly Hunter’s character, Nahla Ake, who was both an Academy captain and chancellor. The conflict felt similar to the thoughtful problem-solving seen in shows like The Next Generation and Enterprise. The story centered around Caleb Mir, played by Sandro Rosta, whose early life was marked by separation from his mother and a resulting distrust of Starfleet. However, over the course of the season, his experiences with Ake, the instructors, and especially his fellow cadets, gradually led him to believe in Starfleet’s positive mission.

Whether in classic books or beloved movies, certain couples simply captivate us with their connection and depth. They can even make flawed stories enjoyable, or win us over with how genuine and relatable they seem.

Like many shows from its era, Frasier doesn’t entirely hold up to today’s comedic tastes. Even the creators of the 2023 Frasier reboot acknowledge some of its outdated elements. Despite being considered one of the best sitcoms ever, a few moments haven’t stood the test of time.
