Many movie and play adaptations of the story take creative freedoms. Modern filmmakers often draw more inspiration from earlier versions of the tale than from the original book. For instance, scenes found in the book—like visits to miners and lighthouse keepers—are frequently omitted. Meanwhile, new scenes—such as Scrooge visiting the Cratchits on Christmas Day—have become staples of most adaptations, even though they weren’t part of Dickens’ original story.

Okay, so Dwight really pulled one over on Dunmire, winning the distillery at auction thanks to his money and charm. Big mistake for him, though, because it immediately made him and his guys targets. Jeremiah, furious, started sending his son Cole around to constantly harass us and mess with our plans to get the distillery back up and running. But even though Dunmire seemed powerful, things started to change during season 3. Manfredi was really good at getting people who worked for Jeremiah to switch sides, and it worked! It got so bad that Dunmire’s guys actually kidnapped Annabelle Sciorra’s character, Joanne, which led to a seriously tense showdown at the end.

Thirty-two years after a small appearance in the original Jurassic Park, the story of Lewis Dodgson – a villain from the Jurassic series and the main antagonist in season 4 of Chaos Theory – gets a new layer of detail. Although we don’t directly see his death in the final season of the Netflix animated show, we witness the events that directly precede it.

Born in Minneapolis in 1943, Bob Seagren moved to New York City to build his career. There, he met Jim Henson, who was just starting out and looking for someone to learn puppetry. Henson gave Seagren a puppet and asked him to practice for appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show. After training with Henson, Seagren worked on promotional events for Sesame Street, and even stepped in as Big Bird when the original performer, Caroll Spinney, couldn’t make it – including appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and in parades. He also appeared on other children’s programs like Captain Kangaroo and Miss Peach of the Kelly School (which he created and won an Emmy for), as well as Who’s Afraid of Opera. In 1974, while working with Henson on The Muppets, he learned that PBS’ The Electric Company needed someone to play a silent Spider-Man.

As a huge fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, I was really excited to see that Penguin Random House just revealed a calendar for 2027! Even though it’s still a ways off, they’ve already shown off the cover, and it looks amazing – it features brand new artwork from the world of Westeros that I’ve never seen before. It’s a nice little treat for fans while we wait for the next book (hopefully!).

Man, the DCEU had a pretty wild run over the last ten years. They made a bunch of movies, but so many cool projects just never happened. I was really hoping for a Nightwing film and a sequel to Man of Steel for ages! It felt like a lot of missed chances, and honestly, it probably contributed to why it all wrapped up with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023. Even though things were rocky, movies like Shazam! and The Suicide Squad actually gave me hope for a bit. There was one other project they were working on that I think could have really turned things around and maybe even saved the whole franchise before Warner Bros. decided to reboot it.
