K-dramas have evolved significantly since they first gained international popularity. Streaming services are now heavily investing in them, and the massive success of Squid Game has especially encouraged Netflix to create even more Korean shows across different genres. While other platforms are also expanding their offerings, Netflix is leading the way with a major new K-drama, Tantara, starring Song and Gong Yoo.
As a film buff, I was absolutely blown away by Robert Downey Jr.’s performance in The Sympathizer. He plays five different characters, and it’s not just a cameo here and there – he completely transforms with each one, nailing the accent, the physicality, everything. Honestly, it reminded me so much of Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove – that incredible feat of playing multiple roles and dominating every single scene. It’s just brilliant work.
Okay, huge news for anyone who loved Scrubs! Deadline is reporting that Neil Flynn and Christa Miller are officially coming back for the revival. I’m so excited! Flynn will be back as the Janitor – you know, the master of pranks who always kept J.D. and everyone else on their toes. And Christa Miller is returning as Jordan Sullivan, Dr. Cox’s ex-wife. She was always delightfully sarcastic, but she really grew on you throughout the series. It’s going to be amazing to see them both again!
Wow, everyone online seems to agree – this year’s Best Actor race is one for the ages! Honestly, just choosing a winner feels impossible, let alone trying to put them in order. But, I’ve seen all five nominated performances – just like I did with the Best Picture contenders – and I’m going to give it a shot. Many shows have tried to copy the success of Lost over the years, using similar ideas and characters. However, none have quite managed to capture the same feeling. As television changes and offers more diverse content, a true successor to Lost remains elusive. But if you’re missing Lost or simply enjoy that type of show, La Brea might be worth watching.
