Filming has finished on the second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, the popular prequel series fans have been eagerly awaiting.

Filming for season two of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has finished! STARZ greenlit the new season before the first one even aired, and recently shared the news – along with some behind-the-scenes photos – on their Instagram page.

Recently released photos confirm several characters will be back for the next season. We’ll definitely see Henry (Jeremy Irvine), Julia (Hermione Corfield), Brian (Jamie Roy), and Ellen (Harriet Slater) return as the main characters. Photos from the set also include Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Ned (Conor MacNeill), and Malcom (Jhon Lumsden). Plus, Dougal (Graham McTavish) and Maura (Bobby Rainsbury), who got married in the first season’s finale of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, will be reprising their roles as well.

With filming finished, fans are eager to know when the second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be released. Since post-production usually takes about as long as filming, and production started roughly six months ago, a release as early as June 2026 is possible. However, this is just speculation, as STARZ hasn’t announced an official release date yet.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a prequel series connected to Outlander. It tells the story of Claire and Jamie’s parents, who live in different time periods but are eventually brought together by time travel. While it adds depth to the original series’ story, the show can also be enjoyed on its own.
