One of the Greatest Action War Movies Ever Made Is About to Leave Free Streaming

Don’t miss your chance to watch one of the best action films in recent years – it’s leaving the streaming service soon! Action movies are often dominated by big franchises like John Wick, Mission: Impossible, Gladiator, and Nobody, but if you’re an action fan, you need to see Sisu, a hidden gem from the 2020s that recently got a great sequel. And if you love seeing villains get their comeuppance, this movie delivers – it’s packed with brutal action against Nazis. Stream Sisu for free now before it’s gone!

As a film buff, I wanted to give you a heads-up: Sisu is available to stream on Tubi right now, but not for long! It’s listed as leaving soon, and unfortunately, Tubi doesn’t tell you exactly when things disappear from their free service. So, if you want to catch this awesome movie, I’d recommend heading over to Tubi and watching it ASAP before it’s gone!

Released in 2022, Sisu was proclaimed as the best action movie of that year, if not the 2020s so far. The Finnish production was directed by Jalmari Helander and stars Jorma Tommila as Aatami, a prospector who must recover his stolen gold from Nazi soldiers. Of course, he’s no ordinary prospector, and Aatami sets out on a brutal mission to retrieve what was his and wipe out anyone who stands in the way. Alongside Tommila, the film also stars Mimosa Willamo and Aksel Hennie. The official synopsis reads:

In the final, desperate days of World War II, a lone gold prospector in northern Finland encounters a retreating group of Nazis. After they steal his gold, they realize they’ve messed with someone far more capable than a simple miner. This ex-commando embodies “sisu,” a Finnish concept representing incredible courage and unwavering determination, even when facing impossible challenges. He’ll stop at nothing – and eliminate every Nazi in his way – to reclaim what’s his.

‘Sisu’ Was Adored By Critics & Audiences Alike

Lionsgate

It’s unusual for movie critics and general audiences to agree, but everyone seems to love Sisu. The film has a remarkably high 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewers agree, giving it an 88% score. One viewer said they were surprised by how good it was, praising the over-the-top action and Jorma Tommila’s performance, especially noting the film’s chapter-based structure felt reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino’s style. Another person described it as a thrilling, *Rambolike World War II story featuring a courageous Finnish protagonist, and highly recommended watching it.

The 2022 film Sisu didn’t perform well in theaters, bringing in only $14 million globally. But it found a large audience when it started streaming. Sadly, its 2025 sequel, Sisu: Road to Revenge, experienced a similar situation – it received positive reviews, but only earned $9 million worldwide.
