For years, this company has developed a fantastic collection of both heroes and villains that people really connect with. It’s been great seeing so many of these popular characters become major movie stars. Plus, the success of these films has helped lesser-known heroes gain recognition and a wider fanbase.
Fans are excited about seeing many Marvel characters get their own movies, and some lesser-known heroes deserve a chance too. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has proven it can succeed with unexpected characters, giving hope that even the most obscure ones could appear in future films or TV shows.
Ezekiel Sims Deserves Better Than Madame Web
Ezekiel Sims is a Marvel character that some Spider-Man fans know, but unfortunately, it’s not for a good reason. He recently appeared in a live-action film, played by Tahar Rahim, and was widely considered the weakest part of an already poorly received movie. This damaged his standing with fans. However, there’s still potential to create a compelling story for Ezekiel Sims in his own dedicated film.
As a huge movie fan, I really think Ezekiel Sims deserves another look. The recent Madame Web film didn’t quite do him justice – he’s way more interesting than they showed! He’s got powers like Spider-Man, and initially, he seems like a good mentor, guiding him through this whole hidden world of spider-people and magic. But it turns out Ezekiel is actually using Spider-Man to save his own skin, which creates a really compelling conflict between them. Honestly, a movie focused on Ezekiel battling creatures like Shathra and Morlun could be amazing! It would be a fantastic way to show his full story and maybe even win audiences over – I think a lot of us would be rooting for him after seeing that kind of journey.
Squirrel Girl Is Secretly One of Marvel’s Most Powerful Characters
Squirrel Girl is a Marvel Comics hero that many fans love, but most people don’t know yet. She has the amazing ability to talk to squirrels and get them to do what she asks. Although it might not sound like much, Squirrel Girl is actually one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, and she’s even defeated incredibly strong villains like Thanos!
Marvel considered actress Milana Vayntrub for the role of Squirrel Girl in a planned New Warriors TV series, but the pilot wasn’t developed further. However, the character still has potential – a Squirrel Girl story could offer a fun, lighthearted contrast to the more serious storylines Marvel has planned.
Howard the Duck Deserves Cinematic Redemption
Howard the Duck is a duck with human characteristics who stars in many funny adventures in Marvel Comics. However, the 1986 movie Howard the Duck wasn’t successful and actually discouraged Marvel from making more films with the character for a long time. Now, though, they’re ready to give Howard another chance to be a star!
As a huge Marvel fan, I always appreciated James Gunn sneaking Howard the Duck into his Guardians of the Galaxy films – it was a fun little Easter egg! He even popped up in Avengers: Endgame and the What If…? series. Now, it sounds like Marvel is finally giving the duck his own shot at a solo movie, and honestly, that’s awesome. They seem to get that what made Howard funny was his weirdness, and they’re smart enough to avoid repeating the mistakes of that… let’s just say forgettable 1986 film.
Jeff the Land Shark Is Adorable Enough to Be a Star
Jeff the Land Shark is a lovable and unusual character from Marvel Comics who’s become a fan favorite. Originally introduced as Gwenpool’s pet, this land-walking shark has since had plenty of adventures on his own. He’s even partnered with other popular Marvel heroes like Deadpool and Kate Bishop.
I’m so excited about Jeff the Land Shark! This adorable character is blowing up, and honestly, with the MCU embracing the craziness of Deadpool and all his different versions, now is the perfect time to bring Jeff to the big screen. A movie with both Gwenpool and Jeff? It would be a blast – funny, heartwarming, and exactly what the MCU needs to shake things up right now!
The Big Wheel Is Spider-Man’s Most Hilarious Villain
The Big Wheel is widely considered one of Spider-Man’s silliest and most memorable villains. Jackson Weele created a massive wheel as a weapon and adopted the persona of “the Big Wheel,” hoping to intimidate his foes. However, instead of fear, he mostly earned ridicule, as Spider-Man—and pretty much everyone else—simply couldn’t take him seriously.
The Big Wheel is a strangely compelling villain – silly, yet beloved by dedicated Spider-Man fans whenever he appears. It’s unusual enough that a spin-off series focusing on him could actually be successful. While a live-action appearance seems unlikely, that’s precisely what makes the idea of Marvel giving him a chance so intriguing.
Boom-Boom Is a Powerful and Charismatic Mutant
This mutant first appeared in comics under different names, including Time Bomb, Meltdown, and Boomer, but is now known as Boom-Boom. She has the power to create energy balls of various sizes that explode, causing significant impact damage. This makes her a valuable teammate in combat, particularly when a strong attack is needed.
Boom-Boom is a lively and unpredictable character, much like her powerful abilities. She’s playful, a bit of a troublemaker, and loves to crack jokes, but she always fights for what’s right. Her powers are straightforward and work well, making her a perfect fit for a fast-paced action movie filled with witty banter – exactly the kind of thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe does best.
Dr. Voodoo’s Backstory Deserves the Spotlight
Jericho Drumm, originally from Haiti, turned his back on his family’s customs and moved to the United States to train as a psychologist. But his plans changed when he discovered his twin brother had been killed by a sinister priest. Jericho returned home and embraced his destiny as a houngan – a voodoo priest – determined to avenge his brother’s death.
Dr. Voodoo is a remarkably powerful hero, once even holding the title of Master of Mystic Arts, and his story is deeply rooted in Haitian folklore. He’s a character who deserves more attention. Marvel’s Cinematic Universe could really benefit from exploring his abilities and background, creating a magical story that also thoughtfully addresses themes of colonialism. Jericho Drumm would also be a fantastic addition to the team.
Cypher Has One of Marvel’s Most Unique Powers
Douglas Ramsey, known as Cypher, has a remarkably helpful mutant power: he can instantly understand any language, whether it’s written or spoken. He does this through a unique combination of telepathy and intuition, allowing him to decipher even the most unknown tongues. While incredibly useful, this unusual ability is part of why he remains a lesser-known character in the Marvel universe.
Cypher isn’t a fighter and usually supports from the back lines, which often makes him the least popular teammate. But his skills are incredibly useful for solving mysteries. A thrilling, code-breaking story similar to The Da Vinci Code would be a great fit for his character. He’s probably most effective as part of a larger team rather than the main focus.
Piecemeal Has a Short But Emotional Story
Piecemeal was originally created by Red Skull and his team as part of an attempt to build soldiers for the New World Order. They combined living tissue with robotic parts, giving him incredible strength, a tail, claws, and the power to change his shape. During a battle with the Green Giant, Piecemeal broke free and, having never known normal life, became captivated by it. Tragically, the Hulk killed him before he could fully grasp the wrongdoings he’d committed, after Piecemeal simply expressed his desire “to live.”
Despite appearing briefly in Marvel comics, Piecemeal’s compelling story has resonated with fans for years. Marvel Studios could create a fantastic film by expanding on his origins. A movie exploring what it means to be human through the eyes of a character like Piecemeal, who isn’t human himself, would be truly special.
Singularity Could Introduce the MCU’s A-Force
During the events of Secret Wars and the A-Force storyline, Nico Minoru discovered a crater containing Singularity – a being made of cosmic material – in the Battleworld realm of Arcadia. Singularity quickly became a key member of the A-Force team and ultimately gave her life to save them. Following Secret Wars, Singularity reappeared on Earth-616 and rejoined Nico, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, and the rest of A-Force. Despite her cosmic origins, she hasn’t been featured in many major storylines since.
Some fans think the character of might be connected to Singularity because of how similar she looked when Gorr brought her back to life, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed. With ‘s return in Avengers: Doomsday, there’s still a possibility the movies could reveal her origins, possibly linking her to Singularity. Another option would be to introduce Singularity in a new movie or series, which could also be a great way to bring the A-Force team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
