Night Swim begins with the Waller family – Ray, Eve, Izzy, and Elliot – moving into a new house. Ray, a former baseball player, needs to retire early because of an illness, and the house, with its swimming pool, offers him a chance to recover and find some peace.
But then, something odd happens to each family member while they’re swimming in the pool, and it doesn’t quite add up. This strange series of events prompts them to investigate, ultimately uncovering a disturbing secret about their new home.
Verdict on Night Swim
Night Swim is a scary thriller about a family hoping for a new beginning in their new house. But they soon realize the home – and especially the pool – is haunted, and they’re the next targets of a terrifying curse. They have to find a way to break the curse before it’s too late.
The movie presents an intriguing story beneath its supernatural elements, although the horror aspects aren’t particularly frightening. It follows a standard investigation that uncovers a more complex mystery. Unfortunately, the film doesn’t deliver genuine scares – the attempts at suspense are predictable and lack impact. While there’s potential for a deeper narrative, it doesn’t fully develop, leaving us with a lackluster horror film that fails to impress.
