A new rumor suggests DC Studios head James Gunn might have already selected the next actress to play Wonder Woman. It’s been over two years since Gal Gadot last played the character in the movies Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.
Who is reportedly the top choice for DCU’s Wonder Woman?
According to the popular gossip source Deuxmoi, James Gunn is strongly considering Adria Arjona, known for her role in the series Andor, to play Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe. Arjona has experience with superhero films, having appeared in the 2022 Marvel movie Morbius.
Okay, so there’s this rumor going around that James Gunn might be bringing Wonder Woman into the new Superman movie, which is already super exciting! Ever since that news broke, everyone’s been buzzing about who could play her. I’ve been seeing a lot of people suggest Sofia Arjona, but Eiza González and Alexandra Daddario are popular choices too. Apparently, the studio is looking for someone tall, in their twenties, and who can actually do some fighting – which makes sense, right?
James Gunn recently revealed that a new Wonder Woman movie is in development. He stated that the script is currently being written, and Ana Nogueira, known for her work on Supergirl, is the writer.
After the huge success of the 2025 Superman movie, DC Studios is gearing up for two more releases in 2026: Supergirl, coming out on June 26th, and Clayface on October 23rd. Plus, their new TV series, Lanterns, will premiere later this year on both HBO and HBO Max.
