Not much is currently known about DC’s next film, The Batman Part II, but a recent report about the actors being cast could give us some clues about the story.
Who has been added to The Batman Part II’s cast?
A recent report from PopFilm (the same source that previously revealed Joel Kinnaman and Kumail Nanjiani would be in Peacemaker Season 2) indicates that Tobias Menzies, known for his work on The Crown, is being considered for a significant role in The Batman Part II.
The report identifies the individual as Amadeus Arkham, who established the famous Arkham Asylum. This institution houses many of Batman’s enemies after they are captured or arrested. It’s a place for the criminally insane and becomes a recurring location in the Batman mythos, as many foes end up there following their encounters with the Dark Knight.
It’s not yet certain how this report impacts the bigger picture of the movie. But, if Arkham Asylum is indeed being set up, it suggests we might see more of Batman’s enemies show up. The name Arkham was briefly mentioned in 2022’s The Batman, when The Riddler was sent to Arkham State Hospital after Batman captured him.
Creating The Batman Part II has taken quite some time. The first movie came out three years ago, in 2022, and was very successful. With Robert Pattinson playing the main character, the film earned more than $770 million worldwide. It was a huge financial success.
A new report indicates that filming for The Batman 2 – sometimes referred to as The Batman Part II or The Batman Part 2 – is scheduled to start on January 1, 2026, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, United Kingdom.
Robert Pattinson will be back as Batman in the upcoming film. The website also shows that Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis playing Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon are all returning. It also suggests that Barry Keoghan will likely reprise his role as the Joker, but Warner Bros. Pictures hasn’t officially confirmed this yet.
