The new version of the 1992 thriller, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, is now available to stream, and reviews are already in.
Okay, so I just finished watching The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and honestly, it’s…fine. Right now, it’s sitting at 62% on Rotten Tomatoes after 13 reviews, which feels about right. Everyone seems to agree that Maika Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are really good – they definitely nail the creepy “nanny from hell” vibe. But the general consensus is that this remake just doesn’t quite live up to the original from the early ’90s. It’s watchable, but don’t go in expecting a classic.
More to come.
