New On Netflix, Disney+, And More: 6 Streaming Shows And Movies To Watch This Week (December 22 – 28)

Merry Christmas to all! This week brings the year’s biggest holiday, and streaming services are celebrating with a bunch of new releases. We’ve already seen lots of new movies this month, plus a highly anticipated new show, and this week we’ll get fresh episodes of a popular Netflix series that’s coming to an end.

Supernatural – December 22 (Peacock)

It’s rare for a TV show to stay on one streaming service for a long time these days, but Supernatural managed to be on Netflix for 13 years across its impressive 15-season run. Now, the show is moving to Peacock. If you were watching Supernatural on Netflix, you’ll need a Peacock subscription to continue the series.

Ne Zha 2 – December 24 (HBO Max)

While Hollywood had a strong year at the box office, the biggest movie worldwide was actually Ne Zha 2. It’s become one of the highest-grossing films of all time! If you didn’t see it when it was briefly in theaters, you can now watch it on HBO Max.

Goodbye June – December 24 (Netflix)

Kate Winslet’s directorial debut, Goodbye June, is a Christmas release, but it’s not a traditional holiday film. Written by Winslet’s son, it stars Helen Mirren as a woman facing the end of her life, surrounded by her family – including Winslet, Andrea Riseborough, and Toni Collette. Expect a deeply moving story.

Stranger Things 5: Volume 2 – December 25 (Netflix)

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I’m so excited for Netflix to release the second part of the final season just in time for the holidays! It’s the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who’s been following the story. And get this – we can watch the finale on New Year’s Eve either from the comfort of our homes on Netflix, or even in theaters if we want the big screen experience!

2025 Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade – December 25 (Disney+)

The holidays are magical at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and since the 1980s, the Disney Parks Christmas Parade has brought some of that magic to those who can’t visit in person. This year, Alfonso Ribeiro and Ginnifer Goodwin from Zootopia 2 will host the parade, featuring performances by Gwen Stefani, Coco Jones, Iam Tongi, Lady A, Nicole Scherzinger, Mariah the Scientist, and Bebe Rexha.

The Copenhagen Test – December 27 (Peacock)

I’m so excited for Simu Liu! Before he’s back as a hero in the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, he’s starring in a new sci-fi series on Peacock called The Copenhagen Test. From what I’ve heard, he plays a spy who realizes someone has hacked his body to steal secrets – sounds intense! And Melissa Barrera is in it with him, which is fantastic. I can’t wait to check it out!

December is ending and January is starting next week! That means a lot of movies and shows will be added to or removed from your favorite streaming services on January 1st. We’ll keep you updated on what’s new and what’s worth checking out.
