The Monarch is introducing a brand new monster that’s sure to grab attention. Season 2 is putting more emphasis on the creatures themselves, giving viewers exciting new characters – both heroic and villainous – to follow.
I was chatting with the actor who plays Tim at the premiere, and he admitted that bringing a new monster into the mix was definitely a risk. He described it as a ‘gamble,’ acknowledging that it could have gone either way, but they felt it was a necessary step for the story.
We’re unveiling a brand new monster, which is always a bit of a risk. It’s something people will either really love or really dislike. But I’m confident audiences will connect with this creature, and I’m eager to see what everyone thinks. It could even lead to discussions about whether this monster rivals Kong or Godzilla as the top Titan.
Joby Harold, the executive producer and writer for the Apple TV+ series, expressed his enthusiasm for Titan X. Although its full potential is still unknown, the possibilities are vast, and everyone is excited to introduce this new monster to the Monsterverse.
As a huge fan of the Monsterverse, I’m seriously hyped about Titan X! From what I’ve heard, it’s a completely new Titan, unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s exciting because nobody – not even the experts – knows anything about it! We don’t know its abilities, its weaknesses, or even how strong it is. Introducing a new Titan is a big deal, and I can’t wait for everyone to finally meet it!
Producer Tory Tunnel recently told ScreenRant that while details about the future of the Monsterverse are being kept secret, each new installment will have unexpected twists and turns.
I’m completely captivated by ‘Tory Tunnel’! The creators have packed it with so many twists and turns – honestly, every episode feels like a real reveal. It’s clear they carefully planned it all out to constantly surprise viewers like me and leave us desperate to find out what happens next. It’s incredibly engaging!
The first season of Monarch concluded with Cate (Anna Sawai), May (Kiersey Clemons), and Keiko (Mari Yamamoto) managing to escape a strange, time-altering area deep within the Hollow Earth. However, Lee seemingly gave his life to help them. Upon their return to the surface, they were shocked to learn that two years had passed, even though they’d only spent a few days underground.
The team’s return led them to Skull Island, where Apex Cybernetics appears to be doing research. This hints that Kong will be a major character in future installments, especially with Titan X heading towards his territory. Kong could also be the key to focusing the story more on the Titans themselves.
It remains to be seen exactly how Titan X will impact the second season, but after a character-driven first season, it’s clear season 2 will heavily feature the monsters. Someone involved with the show told SR that this focus is what makes the new season particularly exciting.
What makes this season unique is that we finally learn the monsters’ backstories, which will draw viewers in. They aren’t just creatures; they have their own compelling stories, and once people understand them, they’ll likely find themselves sympathizing with them.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is streaming now, on Apple TV+, with new episodes dropping Fridays.
