New Favorite to Lead Amazon’s James Bond Reboot Emerges…and He’d Go Down Smooth

Everyone is eager to find out who will be the next James Bond, but the actor chosen for the famous role remains a secret. Though an official announcement isn’t expected until next year, fans and betting sites are already making predictions, and a new frontrunner has emerged as a strong possibility. Many believe this actor would be a perfect fit.

Though not a household name, actor Anthony Boyle is gaining momentum as a potential successor to Daniel Craig as James Bond. You might recognize him from roles in films like *Tolkien* (2019) with Nicholas Hoult, *Tetris* alongside Taron Egerton, and the WWII series *Masters of the Air*. Boyle has also received critical acclaim for his stage work, winning a Laurence Olivier Award and earning a Tony Award nomination for playing Scorpius Malfoy in *Harry Potter and the Cursed Child*.

It’s not any supporting role that’s boosted Boyle’s career; it’s his leading part in the historical drama *House of Guinness*. He plays Arthur Guinness, the firstborn son of the famous brewing family, and that’s caught the attention of those who predict career success. The show proves Boyle can carry a project, and it’s written by the creator of *Peaky Blinders*, who is also working on the new James Bond movie. Everything seems to be coming together perfectly for him.

Although Anthony Boyle isn’t known for action roles, he’s a talented actor who could easily portray the charming and mysterious James Bond that fans want. He also seems like a better fit for the role than many of the current frontrunners. Being in his early 30s, he’d bring a fresh perspective – something Amazon reportedly wants in their next Bond.

Among the actors being considered for the role, Boyle is up against some familiar faces. These include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for *28 Years Later*, Theo James from *The Gentlemen*, and Austin Butler, who starred in *Caught Stealing*. Harris Dickinson, of *The King’s Man*, is also a strong contender, with rumors suggesting Amazon favors him. Rounding out the frontrunners is Callum Turner, Boyle’s co-star in *Masters of the Air*.

Fans of James Bond have been worried since Amazon started making creative decisions for the series. While some of Amazon’s choices haven’t pleased fans, the recent hiring of director Denis Villeneuve (known for *Dune*) and writer Steven Knight has given people hope. Now, the biggest question is who will be cast as the next James Bond – could Anthony Boyle be the one to take on the role?
