Okay, so if you just finished Paradise and are scrambling for something new, let me tell you, everyone is talking about The Asset on Netflix. It’s climbing the charts fast! Speaking of great shows, Paradise – that Hulu original that dropped in January 2025 – was such a hit they already greenlit season two just a month later. Definitely worth checking out both!
Although Paradise season 2 was announced in February 2025, we haven’t heard much about it since, and there’s still no news on when it will be released. Luckily, while we’re waiting, there’s another exciting spy thriller gaining popularity on streaming services that we can enjoy.
Netflix’s The Asset Is A Good Replacement Show For Fans Of Paradise
Paradise is a gripping sci-fi thriller taking place after a global catastrophe forces people to live in underground bunkers. Starring Sterling K. Brown as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins, the story follows his investigation into a presidential death that quickly reveals a larger conspiracy.
This series is captivating and full of suspense, drawing you in with its intriguing mysteries and strong acting. If you’re looking for something similar, The Asset delivers—expect plenty of unexpected twists, complex characters, and secrets revealed gradually.
I was completely captivated by The Asset, especially by Clara Dessau’s performance as Tea Lind. She plays a newly graduated Danish police officer thrown right into an undercover mission. What really struck me, and reminded me of the show Paradise, is how the story explores someone in law enforcement starting to really question whether the organization they believed in is truly doing the right thing. It’s a fascinating and thought-provoking premise!
The Asset Became Netflix’s #1 Show Globally After Just One Day
The new movie, The Asset, quickly became a global hit after its release on Netflix on October 27, 2025. It jumped to the top of streaming charts worldwide, surpassing popular shows like The Diplomat and Nobody Wants This (according to FlixPatrol). Currently, it’s the #3 most-watched title in the United States.
It’s remarkable that a show without a Wikipedia page is gaining so much attention. The Asset is a Danish series that starts with a tough situation: a Danish undercover agent is compromised. To regain the trust of the drug organization he’s been investigating, Folke (Nicolas Bro) must find someone new to use as an asset.
Folke recruits Tea Lind to work undercover for PET, Denmark’s national security agency. “The Asset” is a gripping and suspenseful story that offers insight into both sides of the conflict, leaving readers uncertain about Tea’s true feelings and motivations as she navigates her dangerous assignment.
