Stranger Things could be returning for more mayhem.

I was listening to the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, and the Duffer brothers, who created Stranger Things, dropped a few hints about a new live-action spinoff. They’re being pretty careful about what they reveal, but they did say it won’t be an anthology series – it’ll focus on a specific character or group of characters. When Josh asked if they’d brought on any showrunners yet, they just said “maybe,” so things are still very much under wraps. It sounds like they’re keeping their cards close to their chest, which, honestly, I kind of appreciate!

Honestly, it’s so frustrating! There’s just so much I want to share, but I feel like I can’t say a single thing. I really wish I could talk about it all, but I’m completely unable to right now.

We’re taking our time and being really thorough. We want to make sure everything is perfect.

We’re leaning towards making it happen, but we’re being careful not to rush things. We really want to ensure it’s fantastic – not just made for the sake of continuing the story. The general feeling is that if it’s not incredible, we shouldn’t do it at all.

The Duffer brothers have stated that the new story will feature completely new characters, and won’t revisit Eleven’s storyline, which will disappoint some fans.
