Netflix’s One Piece Unveils Lera Abova’s Robin & Her Powers

The new trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece live-action series gives fans a first look at Nico Robin (Lera Abova) and her formidable abilities, which pose a threat to the Straw Hat crew. Viewers are especially excited to see Robin’s introduction, as she’s a vital member of the team. Before joining Luffy’s crew, Robin operated as a deadly assassin known as Miss All-Sunday, initially targeting those who would later become her friends due to her connections with the criminal group Baroque Works.

The official trailer for Netflix’s One Piece Season 2, called One Piece: Into the Grand Line, gave fans their first glimpse of Nico Robin using her powers, as seen in the anime. Nico Robin is one of eleven characters who will demonstrate Devil Fruit abilities in the new season.

Robin’s abilities come from the Hana Hana no Mi, a Devil Fruit she ate as a child. This fruit lets her grow copies of her body parts from any nearby surface, which she can completely control, though her range and stamina are limiting factors. She can even create full duplicates of herself. Beyond this, she’s a skilled fighter and a brilliant strategist.

Around 22 seconds into the trailer, Miss All Sunday showcases her Devil Fruit ability by creating extra limbs that she uses to quickly defeat several Navy officers as she walks by.

Miss All Sunday appears to be intentionally provoking the Straw Hat crew, suggesting she’ll be a major antagonist in Season 2. However, it’s likely she’ll eventually join them as a crew member, possibly towards the end of Season 2 or sometime in the upcoming Season 3.

Fans can watch the official trailer below:

In the world of One Piece, Miss All Sunday is second-in-command of the Baroque Works organization and a close aide to Crocodile. This makes her a major villain during the Arabasta storyline.

Lera Abova, a quickly rising actress known for her work in films like Anna (2019) and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, plays the character. Her recent projects include a leading role in the Netflix series Exterritorial.

Joining the Baroque Works team are Miss Goldenweek, Mr. 5, Miss Valentine, and Mr. 3, with David Dastmalchian playing the role of Mr. 3.

As a huge anime fan, I’m really excited about the One Piece live-action series on Netflix! The first season, One Piece: Into the Grand Line, mostly covers the beginning of the Arabasta storyline, where the Straw Hat crew starts navigating some seriously treacherous waters and runs into some pretty scary bad guys. The cast is fantastic – Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, Taz Skylar, and Lera Abova all bring the characters to life. And the best part? Season 2 is already confirmed and is hitting Netflix on March 10, 2026! I’ve already marked my calendar.

Why Nico Robin’s Powers Are Dangerous & Unpredictable In One Piece Season 2

Nico Robin, also known as Miss All Sunday, poses a significant danger to the Straw Hat Pirates, largely due to the unpredictable nature of her abilities.

She appears to be a highly skilled and dangerous assassin, capable of eliminating anyone effortlessly. However, beneath that exterior lies a hidden depth that suggests she could become a powerful ally. Robin’s unique abilities make her adaptable in combat, and both her friends and foes – including the World Government – view her as exceptionally strong and difficult to capture or defeat.

Robin’s natural abilities are incredibly versatile, letting her do things like create massive, powerful limbs, grow wings to fly, and even make clones of herself to confuse enemies. This makes her a highly effective assassin, and it’s easy to see why she’s Crocodile’s right-hand person.

Besides her Devil Fruit abilities, Robin can read poneglyphs – incredibly durable stone tablets that contain the lost history of the Void Century. The Void Century is a 100-year period deliberately erased from history by the World Government. This skill made her a major target for the World Government, but also a crucial member of the Straw Hat crew, where she serves as their main archeologist.
