Netflix’s New 8-Part Superhero K-Drama Becomes Instant Streaming Hit Worldwide

By 2026, Netflix has become a major player in K-Dramas. While Hollywood’s superhero content largely revolves around DC and Marvel, Netflix has also found success with heroic stories of its own.

According to a report from Tudum, the K-Drama series Cashero quickly became a global success on Netflix after its release on December 26, 2025. During the week of December 22nd to 28th, it ranked as the second most popular non-English series on the platform.

During the week of December 22nd to 28th, 2025, Cashero garnered 3.8 million views, alongside its 26.5 million hours viewed on Netflix. The top spot, however, belonged to Culinary Class Wars: Season 2, which achieved 4.7 million views and a total of 44.8 million hours viewed.

I’ve been keeping an eye on Cashero, and right now, it doesn’t have any official critic or audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes. But honestly, I’m not surprised – it’s still pretty new on Netflix! I’m expecting those scores to start rolling in as more people discover and review it, and I’m really curious to see what everyone thinks.

The K-Drama Cashero, based on the webtoon by Lee Hoon and No Hye-ok, offers a unique take on the superhero genre, differing from typical stories seen in the DC and Marvel universes. The main character, Kang Sang-woong, played by Lee Jun-ho, has a special ability: his super-strength is directly tied to how much money he possesses.

In the K-Drama, a group of villains is going after heroes, so Sang-woong assembles a team of people with special abilities to fight back. Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho wrote the Netflix version of Cashero, and Lee Chang-min directed it.

The main cast of Cashero includes Kim Hye-jun as Sang-woong’s fiancée, Kim Min-sook, alongside Kim Hyang-gi as Bang Eun-mi, and Kim Byung-chul as Byeon Ho-in. Shin Su-hyun plays Lee Su-eun, Kim Eui-sung is Jo Won-do, Kang Han-na is Jo Anna, and Lee Chae-min plays Jo Nathan in this 8-episode series.

Catch all 8 episodes of Cashero as it is now streaming on Netflix.
