Popular series include both new limited series like His & Hers and returning favorites like The Night Agent. Thrillers, in particular, have been consistently popular with viewers.
Popular returning series like The Night Agent and The Lincoln Lawyer, along with upcoming seasons of shows like Beef and The Gentlemen, are keeping Netflix incredibly popular. Right now, two new releases are competing for the top spot, and one has recently taken over the number one position on Netflix’s worldwide charts.
Currently, Detective Hole is the most popular show on Netflix worldwide, according to data from FlixPatrol. It’s taken the top spot from the recently released Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, which was number one just yesterday. Other popular shows on the platform include the live-action series One Piece, the mystery show Beauty in Black, and the disaster drama Radioactive Emergency, among others.
The Netflix crime thriller Detective Hole is based on Jo Nesbø’s novel, The Devil’s Star, the fifth book in his popular Harry Hole series. Nesbø is also the showrunner for the series, which stars Tobias Santelmann as Harry Hole and Joel Kinnaman as Tom Waaler. Currently, Detective Hole is the top show on Netflix in 37 countries.

ScreenRant reviewed two new Netflix series. Dhruv Sharma rated the crime thriller Detective Hole a 6 out of 10, praising its strong cast and overall atmosphere. Dani Kessel Odom gave the horror series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen a 9 out of 10, calling it a twisted and shocking show. Currently, Detective Hole is performing better on Netflix’s charts than Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen.
