Netflix’s 10/10 Masterpiece Sci-Fi Series Is Even Better Than ‘Stranger Things’

As people finish watching the last episode of Stranger Things on Netflix, many sci-fi fans believe another series on the platform is poised for continued success. Netflix has a habit of ending promising shows after only a few seasons, but they also create and acquire some fantastic science fiction programs. Stranger Things is their biggest hit in the genre, and shows like Dark, Altered Carbon, Lost in Space, and 3 Body Problem are all excellent. However, Love, Death & Robots has captivated audiences for four seasons and doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

All four seasons of the sci-fi anthology series Love, Death & Robots are now available on Netflix. The show originally premiered in 2019, a time when Netflix was known for taking risks on original content. Created by David Fincher and Tim Miller, Love, Death & Robots features self-contained episodes, each with a unique story and creative team. The series offers a wide variety of stories to appeal to a broad audience. Past episodes have ranged from farmers battling aliens with robots to a world overrun by yogurt, and the latest season includes tales of a priest who falsely predicts the apocalypse and a puppet show recreating a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Here’s what the show is about:

This series features a collection of beautifully animated short films covering a wide range of genres – from science fiction and fantasy to horror and comedy. Talented animators have crafted immersive and exciting stories, including tales of reimagined history, the lives of robots in a ruined city, and even a bizarre scheme for world domination involving super-smart yogurt. Oscar nominee David Fincher is one of the show’s executive producers.

Critics generally love Love, Death & Robots, and each season has been better than the last. While the first season received a respectable 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, subsequent seasons saw ratings climb to 82% and then a perfect 100% for both Seasons 3 and 4. Viewers have been a bit more discerning, but the show still maintains a solid 71% audience rating overall.

What’s Going On With ‘Love, Death & Robots’ Season 5?

Netflix

Okay, so Season 4 of Love, Death & Robots was a hit – critics loved it, and plenty of people were watching. But as a long-time fan, I’m still left wondering what’s next! It’s been a while since May 2025, and we haven’t heard anything about a fifth season. Honestly, though, this is pretty typical for this show – we always seem to be kept waiting!

Compared to fans of other shows who wait a year or two for new seasons, those who enjoy Love, Death & Robots are accustomed to longer gaps. There was a three-year wait between seasons 3 and 4, and for a while it wasn’t even clear if the show would continue. So, while its future isn’t guaranteed, Love, Death & Robots could be renewed for a fifth season at any time.
