Back in 2015, PlayStation Network attempted a superhero show similar to The Boys, actually before Amazon Prime Video’s version. The show, based on the Powers comic book, was visually striking and ambitious, but only ran for two seasons. Now, Netflix is rebooting the series, and early signs suggest it will be a significant upgrade, potentially becoming Netflix’s next big superhero hit like Invincible.
Netflix is creating an animated series for adults based on the comic book Powers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, who originally created Powers, are both involved – Bendis is writing the first episode, and Oeming is working on the show’s visual style. With the original creators on board, fans of the long-running series should enjoy the upcoming adaptation.
