Netflix Sets New Crime Thriller Series From A24 Starring Joel Edgerton

Netflix is debuting a new crime thriller featuring Joel Edgerton. The streaming service has seen great success with crime series before, earning both high ratings and critical acclaim. Last year’s spy thriller, Black Doves, was a good example, receiving positive reviews and attracting a large audience.

The miniseries Adolescence became a global sensation earlier this year, earning it several Emmy Awards. It joins other popular crime series on Netflix like You, Narcos, and Money Heist.

Netflix has greenlit a new crime series called Trigger Point, according to Deadline. The streaming service won the show, which stars Joel Edgerton, after a competitive bidding process. Produced by A24 and Joe Hipps, the series will consist of eight episodes.

Jeremy Saulnier, the director, and Harrison Query, the writer and creator of Heads of State, are key creative forces behind the show. Query will also oversee the series as showrunner, while Saulnier will executive produce alongside Patrick McDonald and Katie Giarla. Netflix won a competitive bidding war with Apple TV to secure the project.

The series Trigger Point follows a team of highly skilled Tier One Special Forces operators who leave military service to work for a private military company. Adrian Edmondson stars as Red, a former Special Ops member turned criminal, who leads the group while the FBI pursues them.

Though Joel Edgerton is best known for his work in movies, he’s also appeared in television, including the sci-fi series Dark Matter on Apple TV, which debuted last year. This new project offers him an opportunity to collaborate with Netflix on a TV show.

Beyond being a good show, Trigger Point is a valuable collaboration for Netflix, as it allows them to partner with A24. This isn’t the first time Netflix and A24 have worked together – A24 also produced Beef, a very successful series that premiered on Netflix.

Over the past few years, A24 has become known for consistently releasing high-quality content and has earned a great reputation with both viewers and critics. While they’re particularly famous for their unique and often unsettling horror movies like Hereditary, Bring Her Back, and Death of a Unicorn, they’ve also made a big impact on television with shows like Euphoria.
