The biggest movie of 2025, Ne Zha 2, has set an HBO Max streaming date.

Ne Zha 2 is a Chinese animated fantasy adventure film created by Jiaozi. It’s a follow-up to the 2019 movie Ne Zha and came out in US cinemas this past August, distributed by A24.

Currently, Ne Zha 2 is the top-earning movie of 2025, having grossed over $2 billion globally. This achievement places it among the five highest-grossing films ever made, and specifically makes it the highest-grossing animated film and the highest-grossing movie not originally made in English.

When will Ne Zha 2 be released on HBO Max?

Good news for animation fans! HBO Max will start streaming Ne Zha on December 1st, 2025, and the highly anticipated sequel, Ne Zha 2, will be available on December 24th, 2025.

Ne Zha, a spirited and powerful boy born to humans, is both feared and misunderstood by the gods. When an old and dangerous threat rises to destroy humankind, Ne Zha must mature and embrace his destiny to become a hero.

The Chinese voice actors for the film include Lü Yanting and Joseph Cao as Nezha, Han Mo as Ao Bing, Lü Qi as Lady Yin, Chen Hao as Li Jing, Zhang Jiaming as Taiyi Zhenren, Wang Deshun as Master Wuliang Xianweng, Li Nan and Yu Chen as Ao Guang, Zhou Yongxi as Ao Run, Yang Wei as Shen Gongbao, Yunqi Zhang as Deero, and Xinglinr as Crana.

The English dub of the film features Crystal Lee and Griffin Puatu voicing Nezha, Aleks Le as Ao Bing, and Michelle Yeoh as Lady Yin. Vincent Rodriguez III plays Li Jing, with Rick Zeiff as Taiyi Zhenren, William Utay as Master Wuliang Xianweng, Christopher Swindle as Ao Guang, Kari Wahlgren as Ao Run, Daniel Riordan as Shen Gongbao, Damien Haas as Deero, and Grace Lu as Crana.
