Earlier this year, the NCIS universe revisited a beloved duo with NCIS: Tony & Ziva. This miniseries brought Tony and Ziva back together on screen for the first time in years, but it differed from other NCIS shows by premiering exclusively on the streaming service Paramount+, rather than on CBS. This allowed for more mature content. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Tony & Ziva won’t be returning for another season, and I’m particularly disappointed by this news for one key reason.
Paramount+ and CBS Studios have cancelled the series NCIS: Tony & Ziva after its first season. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, who both starred as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David and also served as executive producers, released a joint statement (according to Variety) saying:
We were so thrilled to revisit these characters and continue the story of Tony and Ziva. We’re deeply grateful to the amazing cast and crew, our writers, directors, and producers, as well as our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+, for making this possible. But most importantly, we want to thank the fans worldwide who shared this journey with us and finally witnessed Tony and Ziva’s happy ending.
More to come…
