The preview featured glimpses of Dr. Charles experiencing dreamlike flashbacks, revealing moments from his past and interactions with significant figures like Dr. Ripley and a friend who passed away earlier in Season 11.

The trailer concluded with a shocking scene: Dr. Charles suddenly flatlined during surgery, and it’s unclear if he will survive.

NBC has revealed details about the next episode, sharing that the doctors at Gaffney Chicago Med will team up to save Dr. Charles’s life.

At Gaffney Hospital, the doctors rally to help a colleague facing a life-threatening emergency. Meanwhile, Hannah clashes with the doctor who is taking over her duties while she’s on maternity leave.

Before collapsing, Dr. Charles had a difficult call with a man named Gio, who was contemplating suicide after accidentally injuring his girlfriend in a car accident. Why Dr. Charles Needs to Stay Alive In Chicago Med 

Dr. Charles is a vital character on Chicago Med, and his death would be a huge loss for the One Chicago franchise. Thankfully, it seems likely he’ll recover, as there are still storylines to resolve, including his complicated relationship with his daughter, Anna.

As the head psychiatrist at Gaffney Medical, Charles is a source of emotional support and guidance for the entire medical team. He helps his colleagues deal with their own difficult experiences and acts as a mentor to the younger staff. He’s demonstrated his ability to help even seasoned professionals like Sharon Goodwin and Dr. Archer through incredibly challenging situations.
