‘Mutiny’ Trailer Finds Jason Statham on the Run in New Action Thriller

Jason Statham, known for his action roles, is back with another high-octane thriller. Following his recent films A Working Man and Shelter, he stars in Mutiny, where he’s forced to flee after being falsely accused of murder. The first trailer for Mutiny has just been released, and it’s a clear message: don’t ever accuse Jason Statham of anything – guilty or not!

Jason Statham stars in and produces the upcoming action film Mutiny, reuniting with director Jean-François Richet, who previously helmed the 2023 film Plane. The cast also includes Annabelle Wallis, known for Peaky Blinders and Malignant, Jason Wong (Wrath of Man, The Gentlemen), along with Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravičius, and Adrian Lester. Mutiny is scheduled for release in theaters on August 21, 2026, by Lionsgate. A trailer and official synopsis are now available.

I just heard about this movie, Mutiny, and it sounds wild! Basically, a guy named Cole Reed witnesses his super-rich boss get killed, and then he gets framed for it. So, he’s forced to go on the run while trying to figure out who really did it, and it turns out it’s way bigger than just one murder – it’s some huge international conspiracy. Sounds like a really tense thriller!

As a big fan of the movie Plane, I was really excited to hear about Mutiny. It’s fantastic that Jean-François Richet, the director of Plane, is back, and even better that J.P. Davis, who wrote Plane, penned this one too. Plane is easily one of Gerard Butler’s best action films, and with that same team working with Jason Statham, I’m expecting Mutiny to be another top-notch thriller. The first look at the movie confirms it – this is going to be a summer blockbuster!

Although fans will have to wait a few months for Jason Statham’s next action film, he’s been busy. Last year, he starred in the thriller A Working Man, which was described as a mix of Taken and John Wick. The film brought him back together with director David Ayer (from The Beekeeper) and fellow action star Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote the script. Despite mixed reactions from critics, A Working Man did well in theaters and has since become popular on streaming services.

Jason Statham has had a busy year. While his film Shelter received positive reviews, it didn’t perform well in theaters. But that hasn’t slowed him down! He’s confirmed to return in The Beekeeper 2, working again with director Timo Tjahjanto. He’s also reuniting with Guy Ritchie and Vinnie Jones for Viva La Madness, a new film connected to their hit Layer Cake. And as if that weren’t enough, Statham will even play a version of himself in a film directed by David Leitch, titled Jason Statham Stole My Bike.
