Pixar is back in the headlines with its new movie, Hoppers, which is also its 30th film! The movie has received great reviews, and Pixar isn’t stopping there – they have several new projects planned. Currently, Pixar is developing at least four more movies, with all but one being continuations of popular existing stories, expected to be released by early 2026.
Pixar is continuing its beloved Toy Story series with a fifth installment, set to release in June and starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Beyond that, plans are moving forward for sequels to Coco and The Incredibles – with voice recording for Incredibles 3 beginning this month – and Pixar is now working on even more new projects.
A recent profile of Pixar’s president, Kori Moore (known as Hoppers), in the Wall Street Journal revealed that Disney and Pixar are working on a third Monsters, Inc. movie. This news was later confirmed by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Details about the story are still under wraps, and there’s no announced release date yet. Pete Docter directed the original Monsters, Inc. (with Lee Unkrich and David Silverman), and Dan Scanlon directed Monsters University, but Pixar hasn’t shared who will direct the new film.
