Missing Young Sheldon Fan-Fave Finally Returns In Georgie & Mandy’s Season 2, Episode 15 Trailer

After a long absence, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is bringing back a Young Sheldon fan-favorite.

Now that Georgie and Mandy are building a family with the McAllisters in Medford, the new show, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, sometimes feels like a continuation of the original series, especially after Young Sheldon ended. We’ve seen other members of the Cooper family in Texas appear in several storylines, most recently focusing on Missy’s adventurous teenage years and her relationships. While Georgie’s sister, Mary, and Pastor Jeff have played important roles in season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, one familiar face is still missing from the guest cast.

As a longtime viewer of the Young Sheldon universe, I always enjoyed Annie Potts as Connie Tucker. While not technically a Cooper by blood, she felt like family, especially in those early seasons where she played a sweet, feisty grandmother to Sheldon. But it was her connection with Georgie that really blossomed, and became even more important when Mandy got pregnant. I noticed she popped up a few times in Young Sheldon‘s first season, but her role diminished in season two. However, I’m hearing that’s about to change with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, and I’m excited to see how they bring her back into the fold.

The latest trailer for season 2, episode 15 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (shared by TVPromos) reveals that Meemaw is back and teaming up with Mandy. In the episode, titled “A Stuffed Monkey and an Ex-Girlfriend,” the two start a new business that involves some shady dealings. Meanwhile, Connor wonders if he should try to rekindle things with his former girlfriend. You can watch a preview of the episode here.

JoAnn Potts wasn’t in the second season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage because she was filming Best Medicine on the East Coast. Since Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage filmed in California, the show needed to carefully plan how to keep her character, Meemaw, involved. They eventually found a way to include her, though it was later in the 2025-2026 television season.

It’s always wonderful to see Meemaw with her family, but it’s a bit disappointing to realize she hasn’t stopped looking for ways to make a quick buck. We saw in Young Sheldon that she once ran an illegal gambling operation out of her laundromat – that’s actually where Georgie and Mandy met! It didn’t last, as the authorities eventually shut it down. She kept trying other shady schemes to earn money, which even caused problems in her relationship with Dale.

As a long-time fan of The Big Bang Theory, I’ve seen Meemaw try a lot of different business ideas, and honestly, I don’t think this latest one will work out. I’m really hoping that in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, she finally figures things out before she gets into any real trouble. It would be great to see her learn from her mistakes!
