The popular Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will be back at Magic Kingdom for the 2026 holiday season.
Disney is bringing back its holiday parade and has started hiring performers, specifically inline skaters. This casting is a sign that the parade – and other holiday entertainment – will be returning soon.
Disney hasn’t officially announced its 2026 holiday plans yet, but a recent casting call offers the first clue about what’s in store.
Established Role Within the Holiday Event
The “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” is a popular part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. This special event, which requires a separate ticket, usually happens on select nights from November to December.

The parade follows the usual path through Magic Kingdom, starting on Main Street, U.S.A. You’ll see colorful floats, talented performers, and Disney characters dressed for the holidays. Santa Claus always makes an appearance at the very end!
The parade typically happens twice during each evening of the event. You’ll need a special ticket to watch it.
Timing and Announcement Expectations
Disney usually shares all the details about its holiday events—like when they’ll happen, how much tickets cost, and what kind of entertainment there will be—around early or mid-July.
For 2025, prices for the evening event ranged from $169 to $229 per person, plus tax.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party usually starts in early November and continues until the end of December. While the exact dates for 2026 haven’t been announced, it’s likely to happen around the same time as in previous years.
If you’re planning to go, it’s best to buy your tickets as soon as possible, because each night is likely to sell out. In the past few years, the earliest dates have usually sold out by September, and all events are typically full by November.
Since the parade is an important part of the event, we’ll probably find out the parade schedule when the event details are released.
Daytime Performances Near Christmas
For the few days leading up to Christmas, Disney now offers daytime parades open to all visitors, instead of the usual Festival of Fantasy Parade. This gives everyone a chance to enjoy the parade without needing a special ticket for the evening show.

As a big fan of this parade, I’ve noticed something interesting happens around the last week of December. It usually transitions from being a special, ticketed event to just another part of the regular daytime entertainment – meaning anyone can catch it! It’s cool to see it become more accessible.
Outlook for 2026
As a huge Disney fan, I’m getting really excited! The latest news about casting suggests that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is definitely coming back for the 2026 season – it’s the strongest hint we’ve had yet!

Disney hasn’t announced all the entertainment details yet. We’ll likely find out more when they share their full holiday plans later this year.
