Following the success of his film Sinners, Michael B. Jordan is taking on a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. The story, about a billionaire art thief and the investigator chasing him, has been adapted into movies twice before, with Steve McQueen starring in the 1968 version and Pierce Brosnan leading the 1999 film. It’s been almost 30 years since the last adaptation, and Jordan promises this new version will be full of surprises.
Michael B. Jordan is not only directing and starring in a new movie version of The Thomas Crown Affair, but he’s also producing it. He’ll be acting alongside Adria Arjona, who takes over the role previously held by Taylor Russell, as well as a stellar cast including Kenneth Branagh, Aubrey Plaza, Pilou Asbaek, Paapa Essiedu, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, and Ruth Negga. While details are scarce, the film is expected to be a modern update that builds on the original movies while offering a new perspective on the story. Jordan recently shared some hints about his vision for the reimagining in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
This film is a large-scale, international production that’s both exciting and entertaining. It’s packed with unexpected twists and turns, and it has surprises that audiences will really enjoy.
