MCU star Dave Bautista is back in action, and the first trailer for his new movie is here! Instead of facing another huge opponent, Bautista’s character will battle his own teenage child in this action thriller. He’s teaming up again with Stuber director Michael Dowse for what looks like a suspenseful and exciting story – but with a unique family dynamic.
The caption for the Trap House trailer (available below) says, “They learned from the best.” The footage shows that top DEA agents Bautista and his partner – played by stars of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Ant-Man’s – will go up against their own children. These kids will use the skills their parents taught them, but to deliver their own version of justice.
I’m so excited for Trap House, directed by Michael Dowse and written by Gary Scott Thompson and Tom O’Connor! The cast is amazing – we’ve got Jack Champion (Avatar: Fire and Ash), plus you might recognize him from (It), alongside Kate del Castillo (The Book of Life), Tony Dalton (The Last of Us), Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Inde Navarrette (Superman & Lois), Zaire Adams (Senior Year), and Blu del Barrio (Star Trek: Discovery)). And get this – Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale are in it too! It’s an action thriller that’s coming to theaters on November 14, 2025, and I just saw the trailer and read the official synopsis – you can check them both out below…
In El Paso, Texas, a DEA agent working in disguise and his colleague find themselves in a surprising situation: playing a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with the agent’s own teenage children, who are part of a daring group of thieves.
Alongside ‘Trap House,’ Dave Bautista Has Plenty of Action in the Pipeline
Trap House looks set to be another exciting and action-packed film for Dave Bautista. He’s become one of the most successful actors to transition from professional wrestling, and has proven to be a truly compelling performer. Now that he’s finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe – his character Drax isn’t expected to appear in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars – Bautista has a number of very promising projects coming up.
The actor is set to battle Henry Cavill in the highly anticipated revival of the action fantasy series, Highlander, and is expected to play the primary antagonist, The Kurgan. In addition to this role, Bautista will also appear in the Amazon sequel Road House 2, where he’ll go toe-to-toe with Jake Gyllenhaal, who is reprising his role.
Dave Bautista is set to deliver more action for his fans, joining forces with Fast X and Supergirl star Jason Momoa in the upcoming film, The Wrecking Crew. This project came about because fans expressed a desire to see Jason Momoa, who previously played Aquaman and is now Lobo, paired with Dave Bautista. Bautista himself was enthusiastic about the idea, sharing on social media in 2021, “Just putting this out there… Me and Momoa in a buddy cop movie like Lethal Weapon, directed by David Leitch. Okay! Let’s see what happens.”
I was really interested to hear they didn’t end up with Bullet Train‘s David Leitch for this project, but I’m actually pretty excited they got Ángel Manuel Soto, who I really enjoyed with Blue Beetle. Apparently, The Wrecking Crew is going to star Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as “two half-brothers-Momoa plays a bit of a wild cop, and Bautista is a super-disciplined Navy SEAL. After years of not getting along-like, 20 years of bad blood-they’re forced to team up and figure out who killed their father back in Hawaii.”
