Marvel fans should watch for big news on April 16th, likely about Avengers: Doomsday and potentially Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios often uses CinemaCon, a movie industry event, to reveal details about upcoming projects and generate excitement for its films, and this year will likely be no different.
Disney will be presenting at CinemaCon on Thursday, April 16th, and plans to show a special sneak peek of footage from Avengers: Doomsday to theater owners. Details about what’s shown are expected to be released to the public that same day, making April 16th a key date for Marvel fans looking forward to the next big Avengers movie.
Disney will be presenting from 2:30 to 4:30 pm Pacific Time at the Dolby Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
As a movie critic, I was glad to see Marvel Studios back at CinemaCon in 2023, 2024, and 2025 after a few years away. They really brought the heat, showcasing upcoming films like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and a first look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Last year, 2023, was particularly exciting – we got a sneak peek at footage from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the trailer for The Marvels was a real treat for those in attendance.
In 2024, Marvel Studios shared a nine-minute preview of their upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine, and also revealed the first look at Captain America: Brave New World. The Captain America footage showed Harrison Ford’s character, Thunderbolt Ross, requesting that Sam Wilson bring the Avengers team back together.
CinemaCon 2025 offered exciting updates on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Highlights included the official start of production for Avengers: Doomsday, Kevin Feige announcing some surprise cast members, and a preview of The Fantastic Four: First Steps revealing Sue Storm is pregnant. Attendees also learned about the villainous plot Val is orchestrating in Thunderbolts against Yelena and her team.
What To Expect In Marvel Studios’ CinemaCon 2026 Presentation
The main highlight of Marvel Studios’ presentation at CinemaCon will be Avengers: Doomsday, and attendees can likely expect to see a new trailer or a short clip from the film.
We might finally get our first glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom at this event, especially since he wasn’t featured in the four teaser trailers released late in 2025. They could also show a longer version of those teasers.
As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really hoping we might get some news about who’s joining the cast of either Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars at the event! It’s a bit of a long shot, but fingers crossed!
With Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, announcing the beginning of filming for Doomsday in 2025, we can expect updates on Secret Wars – including potential reshoots for the 2026 crossover – at the same time. There’s also speculation that news about the future of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be revealed.
