Who’s involved in the Maul: Shadow Lord series?

This year at the Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, it was revealed that a new animated series called “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” is in the works. In this series, Sam Witwer, a long-time voice actor for Star Wars, will reprise his role as Darth Maul, a character he played in Dave Filoni’s hit shows The Clone Wars and Rebels. The series is being overseen by Dave Filoni himself, who is both creating and serving as an executive producer. Additionally, the creative team includes Matt Michnovetz as head writer and Brad Rau as supervising director, both of whom are also serving as executive producers alongside Athena Portillo from Lucasfilm’s animation department.

Approximately one year from now, following the events of The Clone Wars, is when it’s anticipated for the show to unfold. As Witwer shares, this series will delve into unexplored aspects of the main antagonist. Initially, the character was played by Ray Park and Peter Serafinowicz in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace from 1999.

During the show’s unveiling, Witwer mentioned that we will discover various aspects of this character. He possesses certain unique characteristics that might not be immediately obvious but fit perfectly with his past experiences.
