ScreenRant is getting a first look at the new LEGO-compatible Mattel Brick Shop Halo UNSC M12 Warthog before it’s officially shown at San Diego Comic-Con.
Mattel is releasing a new LEGO set based on the popular video game Halo, just in time for the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved next week. This 1,019-piece set lets you build the iconic Warthog vehicle from Halo: Reach. It’s designed with details and features inspired by the games, and includes options to display it in two different configurations.
I’m also excited to share a first look at official photos of the finished product! These images highlight all its features, like the opening hood and working winch, as well as different turret options, included decals, and other detailed close-ups. You’ll be able to see everything before pre-orders begin.
Mattel’s Halo Warthog Can Convert Into The Gauss Hog!
As a huge fan of the Halo universe, I was really excited to see the UNSC M12 Warthog replica. It costs $75.99, and the details are fantastic! The back turret actually rotates, the wheels have adjustable suspension, and it even has a working winch with a seven-inch cable. They’ve really paid attention to making it look just like the Warthog from the game, with pad-printed graphics that perfectly match its in-game design.
This set lets you transform the standard M12 Warthog into the M12G1 Gauss Hog with custom parts and stickers. It replaces the back turret with the Gauss Cannon – a powerful weapon that originally appeared in Halo 2. You can further personalize the model with emblems inspired by the multiplayer mode, markings to show battle damage, and a choice of two different wheel styles.
This detailed model is designed to be both a cool display item and an enjoyable building experience, featuring working mechanical parts throughout the vehicle. So far, Mattel’s Brick Shop has primarily created models of real cars, with a small selection from Masters of the Universe. The Halo set marks their first big partnership with a video game franchise.
You’ll be able to pre-order the Mattel Brick Shop Halo UNSC M12 Warthog starting July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time from various stores around the world, after it’s first shown off at San Diego Comic-Con in 2026.
