Marvel’s Next Avengers Movie Spotlights 1 Avenger In Shocking Story
Marvel’s newest Avengers adventure, LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails, is an animated movie coming to Disney+ this Friday, November 14th. It’s one of the last Marvel releases planned for Disney+ this year, along with two other animated series for kids – one featuring Spider-Man and another about Iron Man. Also coming to the streamer is Madame Web from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU).
This new LEGO Avengers movie follows up on last year’s LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition, but shifts the focus to Hawkeye instead of Demolition Man, who was the central character in the 2024 film. The plot centers around Hawkeye and the Avengers teaming up to stop a destructive influencer. This storyline is a departure from the typical plots Marvel fans expect in an Avengers movie.
Considering how LEGO movies tend to be funnier than the stories they’re based on, this new trailer for LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails makes sense. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be about an influencer using magic to make cats battle the Avengers for online views! But honestly, the trailer looks really funny.
Why Hawkeye Is The Perfect Main Hero For The New Avengers Movie
I appreciate Marvel’s approach of highlighting a different hero in each LEGO Avengers film. It really helped introduce lesser-known characters like Demolition Man, giving him a chance to stand out. Although Hawkeye is a key Avenger, he’s unfortunately often been overlooked or given less attention within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the 2012 film The Avengers, Hawkeye was controlled by Loki for much of the story. He’s also unique among the original Avengers team – he hasn’t had his own solo movie and was completely absent from Avengers: Infinity War. That’s why making Hawkeye the focus of the next Avengers film – even a different version of the character – is a welcome and innovative choice.
