Marvel’s Best Show in Years Surges to No. 4 Worldwide on Disney+ Ahead of New Episodes

Viewers are really enjoying the Disney+ series Daredevil. It’s quickly become one of the most popular shows on the platform, rising to the top of the streaming charts just two weeks after the release of its second season.

I’m really hooked on Daredevil: Born Again! It’s doing super well on Disney+, currently the fourth most-watched show or movie globally, according to FlixPatrol. Here in the US, it’s at number six, which is a little down from last week when it was at number three. But honestly, with only three episodes released so far and five more to come, I think it’s going to climb again as things really heat up between Daredevil and Kingpin. I can’t wait to see how it all ends!

Born Again Season 2 to Conclude Mayor Fisk Storyline

As a critic, I’ve been following the Marvel street-level heroes for a while, and I’m excited to say Daredevil: Born Again feels like a true continuation of the gritty, grounded world we loved from the Netflix Defenders series, particularly the original Daredevil. This first season brings Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock, still fighting for justice as Daredevil, but this time he’s facing off against a much more powerful foe: Wilson Fisk, brilliantly played by Vincent D’Onofrio, who’s now running the city as the mayor of New York. It’s a fantastic setup and promises a really compelling clash.

As a huge Daredevil fan, I was totally bummed seeing Matt forced into hiding at the end of Season 1 after Fisk cracked down on vigilantes. Season 2 has been all about him teaming up with Karen Page and a few others to fight back against Fisk and his task force. While they’re keeping a lot of the plot details secret for the rest of Season 2, the showrunner, Dario Scardapane, has let slip that Season 3 is going to shift focus away from all the political stuff and… well, I can’t say more without spoiling things!

In February 2026, Scardapane explained that the current direction felt like a move away from grand, mythological stories. He said they were aiming for a style similar to the comics Frank Miller created, preferring a more grounded, street-level focus after exploring political themes. He enjoyed the political stories, but personally preferred a more personal, down-to-earth approach.

Even though the showrunner, Scardapane, has suggested Kingpin won’t be mayor of New York City by the end of Season 2, Vincent D’Onofrio’s popular villain won’t be leaving the Disney+ series. Scardapane recently told The New York Times that Season 2 isn’t the end of Fisk’s story at all.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Beats Wonder Man’s RT Score

The new season of Daredevil: Born Again is a critical and popular success. It’s currently the highest-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe series in the last four years, even surpassing the 91% score earned by Wonder Man earlier this year, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Given its popularity, it’s not surprising that Born Again will be the first live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe series from Marvel Studios to get a third season. Filming started in March 2026 and should finish in July. The new season is planned to launch on Disney+ in March 2027, just like the first two seasons.

New episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are available on Disney+ every Tuesday through May 5th. After that, starting May 12th, you can watch a series featuring Jon Bernthal.
