Okay, so Marvel’s doing a complete 180 with how they’re releasing the new season of Daredevil: Born Again on streaming. When it first dropped last spring, they did things really differently. Instead of releasing a whole season at once, or even a typical weekly schedule, they started with a two-episode premiere and then released just one episode each week – except for one week where they dropped two. It was a weird release strategy, honestly, and now they’re changing it up.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will be released differently than the first. Instead of premiering multiple episodes at once, Disney has announced that Season 2 will begin with just one episode on March 24, 2026, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
It’s currently unknown if the show will continue releasing episodes weekly for the rest of Season 2. However, we do know that Season 1 will begin with just one episode of the Daredevil story.
The most recent Marvel series on Disney+ that premiered with just one episode was Season 2 of Loki, which launched in October 2023.
Before January 2024, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows on streaming services typically released one episode at a time. But starting with the show Echo, Marvel began releasing multiple episodes at once, at least for a series’ first season.
The new Marvel series, Daredevil: Born Again, continues the story of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he clashes with his enemy, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). This season will focus on Daredevil preparing for a major conflict with Fisk, who is enacting policies to suppress vigilantes. Joining the show this season are Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, and Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles.
Why Is Daredevil Changing Up Release Strategies Now?

The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 was incredibly strong – one of the best premieres Disney+ has ever had. That’s why it’s so surprising they only released one episode for the Season 2 premiere.
Given how successful the first season was, why change things up? Marvel might have a compelling reason for making such a big shift, though.
Marvel Television has tried releasing shows in different ways lately, even dropping entire seasons all at once, as they did with the popular series Wonder Man on Disney+ in January. However, choosing to release Born Again Season 2 one episode at a time might indicate how Marvel views this darker, more realistic show.
HBO, a channel owned by Warner, is well-known for debuting new shows with just one episode at a time. It’s become a leader in high-quality television, and releasing episodes weekly is a key part of its approach.
Marvel Television seems to be trying to maximize the potential of Born Again Season 2, possibly hoping it will achieve the same level of success and recognition as popular HBO series like The Pitt or Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
While it might not seem like a big deal, this subtle shift could make viewers associate the show with other highly-regarded, quality series. Plus, it gives Disney an extra week of popular Marvel content on its streaming service, which will be especially valuable in 2026 as they adjust their streaming strategy.
