Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have been given a peek at several authentic costumes destined for prominence in the upcoming “Avengers: Endgame.” The production of “Endgame” is now in full swing, and Marvel aims to surpass all previous records with this release, potentially making it the most successful MCU film ever. With the completion of Phase 5’s highs and lows, fans have already formed some expectations for the next significant joint mission from Marvel Studios.
Disney made the much-anticipated Marvel Studios movie “Thunderbolts” available on Disney+ on August 27. This release included the film’s critically acclaimed mid and end credits sequences, with the latter showcasing the New Avengers in new outfits. Interestingly, this latter scene was not directed by Jake Schreier, the director of “Thunderbolts,” marking a distinctive trend from past MCU films where post-credits scenes were often helmed by different Marvel Studios filmmakers.
In my perspective, I played a part in bringing you an intriguing post-credits sequence for Thunderbolts. The masterminds behind this scene were none other than Joe and Anthony Russo, who also happen to be at the helm of 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday. It’s been speculated that the footage shown in this post-credits sequence was sourced straight from Doomsday itself, as it was filmed during the production phase of the fifth Avengers movie.
As a die-hard Marvel fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming cinematic spectacle, “Avengers: Doomsday”! Mark your calendars for December 18, 2026, as this epic adventure will be gracing our screens. This film will be a groundbreaking addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), being the first Avengers movie in Phase 6 and the first one since the monumental “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
Brace yourselves, fellow fans, because this blockbuster promises to bring together a stellar ensemble of at least two dozen Marvel Universe veterans and legacy stars! The stage is set for an unforgettable battle as the old guard faces a new threat. Our beloved characters will unite across generations to take on the formidable villainy of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who poses a grave danger not only to our familiar universe but also to the very sanctity and safety of the multiverse itself!
So, get ready for another heart-pounding chapter in the Marvel saga, “Avengers: Doomsday” – it’s time to join forces once again with Earth’s mightiest heroes!
Best Looks at 5 Avengers: Doomsday Costumes
Yelena Belova
In the upcoming Marvel Studios film, “Thunderbolts,” Florence Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova, who assumed the Black Widow identity following the demise of Natasha Romanoff. Pugh will be seen in her fourth live-action outing as the character, having first appeared in 2021’s “Black Widow” and later returning to the role in the same year’s “Hawkeye.
In my role as the Black Widow, I’ve donned a familiar costume for quite some time now. For this new venture, it remains predominantly black, emblazoned with the New Avengers logo proudly on my shoulder. My trademark Black Widow insignia graces my belt, and my trusty batons are ever-present, affixed to my back once more.
Winter Soldier
In the upcoming film, “Thunderbolts,” Sebastian Stan reprises his role as James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes, or the Winter Soldier, a character he has portrayed since 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.” This will mark his twelfth live-action appearance of Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following “Avengers: Doomsday.
Bucky sports a red and black star emblem on the right shoulder of his dark costume, which features armor-like plating across his chest and exposes his vibranium arm without a sleeve. Though his attire may not be flashy, Bucky, formerly a U.S. Senator, is poised to make an impression on the new Avengers squad.
Ghost
Hannah John-Kamen reprises her role as Ava Starr, commonly recognized as Ghost, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) through her performances in “Thunderbolts” and “Avengers: Doomsday.” Having made her initial appearance in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” in 2018, John-Kamen’s character will have starred in three MCU productions as the heroine who can phase through solid matter and become invisible, with “Doomsday” being the third.
In harmony with her team’s monochrome style, Ghost’s attire consists of leather, armored sections, and the emblem of the New Avengers displayed on her shoulder. Additionally, much like her earlier Thunderbolts ensemble, she sports a piece of flowing fabric from her waist.
U.S. Agent
During the Multiverse Saga, Wyatt Russell’s character John Walker was introduced as a new figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Initially portrayed as Captain America to the public, he later became U.S. Agent. After his downfall in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Walker reappeared for his second stint in the MCU in “Thunderbolts.” And, you can expect him back for another adventure in “Avengers: Doomsday.
John Walker’s attire bears a resemblance to the Thunderbolts team’s uniform, featuring key distinctions such as a curved shield instead of the standard straight one and a beret in place of his helmet. With a multitude of other Marvel Cinatic Universe super-soldiers by his side, the intrigue lies in how he adapts to using his non-standard shield in future encounters. Fans are eagerly anticipating this development.
Red Guardian
Making a grand entrance in “Avengers: Doomsday” is David Harbour’s flamboyant character, the Red Guardian, the super soldier hailing from the Soviet Union. First appearing on screen in 2021’s “Black Widow,” Harbour will earn his third live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe credit by reprising his role in “Doomsday.
At Doomsday, Alexei Shostakov makes an entrance wearing a vibrant tracksuit featuring hues of orange and blue, adorned with the “New Avengerz” logo on the chest. This outfit showcases logos from seven actual companies, potentially exploiting branding chances. However, it remains uncertain how long Alexei will persist in donning this costume.
