Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as The Punisher with a new special presentation on Disney+, titled The Punisher: One Last Kill. After appearing in Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, Bernthal will have a busy year, including this Disney+ special and a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Punisher: One Last Kill will be available to stream on Disney+ on May 12th, just after the second season of Daredevil: Born Again concludes.
Marvel has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming Disney+ special, The Punisher: One Last Kill, starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. The trailer keeps the plot mostly under wraps, but a brief description hints that Frank Castle will be pulled back into action by “an unexpected force.” You can watch the complete trailer below.
The trailer begins with Frank, bare-chested, in a conversation with Curtis Hoyle, played by Jason R. Moore. Curtis is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after appearing in both seasons of the Netflix series The Punisher.

Curtis keeps asking Frank how he’s doing and wants to know what’s going on in his life. Throughout the story, Curtis appears and disappears, making it unclear if he’s really there or not. Even though Billy Russo shot him in the shoulder in The Punisher, he’s believed to have recovered and is still alive.

The trailer jumps between scenes of Frank at various ages, often showing him alone and deep in thought. We also see him surrounded by security guards, hinting that he might be confined or imprisoned during the show.

The special will include memories of Frank’s daughter when she was young, showing a happier time with his family. Losing his family was the main reason Frank became the Punisher, and this will be explored in the episode.

In another scene, Frank visits his daughter’s grave, leaving a red flower and a watch. This suggests the special will be the first time in years that viewers see Frank’s family, who were last featured in Jon Bernthal’s Punisher series on Netflix.

With flames closing in on Frank in a darkened room, Curtis narrates, declaring, “You don’t stand a chance,” immediately launching viewers into a thrilling and action-packed story in this special presentation.

This trailer shows Frank creating mayhem for anyone who gets in his path, while keeping his enemies guessing. He uses powerful weapons and sheer force to fight off attackers and keep moving forward.

The trailer ends with a close-up of Frank Castle’s vest, featuring a newly painted Punisher skull logo. This suggests a significant shift in the story, hinting that Frank is about to fully embrace his violent methods against his opponents.

The trailer concludes with a dramatic shot of Frank, fully suited as the Punisher, firing a gun directly at the viewer. He’s positioned in front of Gnucci’s Restaurant, hinting that Ma Gnucci will be the primary antagonist.
As of now, no actor has been cast in the role, but Ma Gnucci is a well-known villain from Marvel Comics. She leads a powerful crime family and seeks revenge on Frank for killing her sons, sparking a major conflict in New York City.
