Marvel Studios Recasts Daredevil Movie Star In New MCU Role

Marvel Studios is bringing back an actor from the 2003 *Daredevil* movie for a new role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While several actors appear in multiple MCU projects, Marvel also likes to cast actors who have worked on films outside of the Marvel world. This practice will continue with a much-awaited Disney+ show coming in 2026.

Joe Pantoliano has announced he’ll be joining the cast of the upcoming Marvel series, *Wonder Man*, which will stream on Disney+. He shared the news during a panel discussion at New York Comic-Con, telling fans he’s excited to be part of the show, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Although Richard Pantoliano hasn’t shared details about his character in the upcoming *Wonder Man*, this isn’t his first time working with Marvel. He previously appeared as journalist Ben Urich in the 2003 film *Daredevil*, starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Later, Vondie Curtis-Hall took on the same role in the first season of the Marvel/Netflix series *Daredevil*.

Scheduled for release in January 2026, *Wonder Man* will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe project of the year and the third Disney+ series from Phase 6. The show will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for playing Black Manta in *Aquaman*, as Simon Williams, and will feature a strong supporting cast alongside him. All eight episodes of *Wonder Man* will be available to stream on Disney+ starting January 27th, 2026.

Wonder Man’s Impressive Cast for 2026 Release

Ben Kingsley is set to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the third time, following appearances in *Iron Man 3* and *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings*. This time, he’s expected to have a much larger part, showing fans what Trevor Slattery is like when he’s just being himself as he tries out for a role in the upcoming *Wonder Man* movie, which is also part of the MCU.

Demetrius Grosse will play Eric Williams, Simon Williams’ brother, who eventually transforms into the Marvel Comics villain, the Grim Reaper. Joining the cast are Ed Harris, known for Top Gun: Maverick, as Simon’s agent Neal Saroyan, and Arian Moayed, reprising his role as Agent Cleary from the Department of Damage Control for his third Marvel project.

After the show’s first trailer debuted at New York Comic-Con, fans are eager to learn about Pantoliano’s role and how the series will impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
