Marvel has officially announced the release date for the first sequel in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 6, and the concluding part of the Multiverse Saga, began last summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a fresh start for Marvel’s iconic family. On Disney+, viewers have been enjoying the Black Panther spin-off Eyes of Wakanda, the mature animated series Marvel Zombies, and the debut of Simon Williams in the comedic live-action show Wonder Man.
Following three recent Marvel projects that told completely new stories, Phase 6 will kick off with a true sequel when the second season of Daredevil: Born Again arrives on March 24th. Though Marvel Zombies had some connection to an episode from season one of What If…?, it mostly told its own story, making it feel like a new entry in that world rather than a direct continuation.

The series Born Again is returning with a fresh take, featuring Kingpin escalating his conflict with vigilantes across New York City and Jessica Jones joining forces with Daredevil. This season benefits from consistent creative leadership, with Dario Scardapane serving as showrunner throughout, promising a more focused and cohesive story than the first season, which saw a change in creative teams mid-run.
Disney+ hasn’t announced exactly when all the episodes will be available, but if the eight-episode season airs one episode each week starting March 24th, the finale should be on May 12th. Though Season 2 of Born Again is the first continuation of Phase 6, it’s just one of many Marvel Cinematic Universe sequels planned for 2026 and 2027.
Punisher Special Presentation

Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as the Punisher (Frank Castle) in a new one-hour special presentation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This special continues the story from his previous appearances in the Netflix series The Punisher and the Daredevil revival on Disney+.
Jon Bernthal, known for his role in The Walking Dead, has promised fans a very action-packed special featuring his character, the Punisher. He co-wrote the episode with director Reinaldo Marcus Green, and it will have the intense violence viewers expect. The special will be available on Disney+ around the same time as his appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, likely leading into his part in the upcoming summer blockbuster.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The next Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, will continue the multiversal storyline from No Way Home when it arrives on July 31st, focusing on a more classic Spider-Man adventure. However, fans anticipate Brand New Day will be far from simple, as the film still needs to address several key questions before it’s released.
The next Marvel and Sony collaboration will bring together Spider-Man (Tom Holland), the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to face off against several villains, along with a new character—played by Sadie Sink—whose motives are currently unknown.
X-Men ’97 Seasons 2 & 3

In 2024, Marvel Animation surprised and delighted fans with X-Men ’97, a continuation of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series on Disney+. The show has been renewed through Season 3 and is set to release new seasons each year, with plans already underway for Seasons 4 and 5, starting this summer.
The first season of X-Men ’97 ended on a cliffhanger, hinting at the upcoming Apocalypse storyline in Season 2 after several heroes were sent back to Ancient Egypt. Season 2 will feature an even larger cast of mutants and a new showrunner, Matthew Chauncey, who takes over from Beau DeMayo.
VisionQuest

This fall will see the end of the WandaVision story arc with VisionQuest. Unlike previous WandaVision series on Disney+, this new sci-fi adventure flips the script, focusing on Vision, played by Paul Bettany, and his relationship with his ‘son,’ Tommy Maximoff (Ruaridh Mollica), and Ultron, portrayed by James Spader.
Though WandaVision and its catchy theme song, Agatha All Along, highlighted the magical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, VisionQuest will focus on technology. The series will follow Vision as he tries to recover his memories and rediscover what it means to be human.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Seasons 2 & 3

The animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, presents a fresh perspective on the Spider-Man story within a universe resembling the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though with some notable changes. Importantly, Disney+ has already approved the show for three seasons, so it’s just beginning and will return this fall.
The animated series is set to become even more action-packed in its second and third seasons. Confirmed appearances by several Spider-Man villains, the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, and the introduction of Gwen Stacy as a superhero promise to add even more excitement to the Disney+ show.
Avengers: Doomsday

After a seven-year gap, Marvel Studios is bringing back the Avengers with a new blockbuster, “Doomsday,” which arrives in theaters on December 18th. The movie is a direct continuation of the story from “Endgame,” and will explore the fallout from its time travel elements. It will also feature Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic villain, Doctor Doom.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing for its most ambitious project yet, bringing together the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four in live-action for the first time. They’ll face a massive, Multiverse-level threat that could mean the end of reality as we know it.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

Although fans have to wait another month for the next season of Born Again, Marvel Television is already planning ahead and has renewed the show for a third season. Production is expected to start soon, with the new season likely to premiere next March. However, the show will then have to address a significant issue related to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.
Sana Amanat, an executive producer on the show, told Empire Magazine that Season 3 will focus on a simpler, more fundamental version of Daredevil. There’s also been talk that the season, titled Born Again, might bring back characters and elements from the earlier Netflix Marvel shows, like The Hand, Elektra, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, continuing the gritty, street-level storyline.
Avengers: Secret Wars

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is planned to reach a major turning point on December 17, 2027, with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars. This film will pick up the story from where Doomsday leaves off, and could potentially see Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom emerge as the winner. Secret Wars will be based on a popular Marvel Comics storyline from 2015 of the same name.
Based on the comic books, the upcoming Secret Wars story will likely unfold on Battleworld, a unique planet assembled from the pieces of destroyed universes and governed by Doctor Doom. Many believe Avengers 6 could feature an even larger cast of Marvel characters than Doomsday, potentially making it the biggest Marvel event ever.
