The actor set to portray Iron Fist in the MCU has recently greeted fans. There’s been speculation about an Iron Fist tie-in in Marvel Studios‘ upcoming “Eyes of Wakanda” series, but who will embody that character or which rendition of the famous comic book hero might appear in the Ryan Coolger-produced show is still uncertain and has left fans wondering.

At last, the wait is finally over, and it’s official: one of the mystery voices from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) animated series, Eyes of Wakanda, has been revealed. The actor behind Iron Fist has come forward to confirm they will be playing the character in the new series.

So far, fans have encountered just a single interpretation of their beloved superhero within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This interpretation is portrayed by Finn Jones, who played Iron Fist and was featured in the Netflix series, “The Defenders”.

For several months now, whispers have circulated about a possible comeback for Jones as the character in the superhero series featuring Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Yet, at this point in time, it hasn’t been made official that he will be part of the cast.

This intriguing series will delve into various bands of Wakandan warriors throughout history as they embark on a global mission to safeguard a collection of Vibranium artifacts.

What Version of Iron Fist Is In Eyes of Wakanda?

Since Finn Jones won’t be portraying the Danny Rand version of Iron Fist, the approach taken by “Eyes of Wakanda” for the famous Marvel Comics character could explore various possibilities.

Throughout various periods, multiple women have taken on the role of Iron Fist. Among them, Colleen Wing stands out as the most recognized. She is a Japanese immigrant residing in New York City who assumed the title of Iron Fist following an incident where she was brainwashed and compelled to take Danny Rand’s life.

It appears doubtful that Jona Xiao could appear as Wing in the upcoming animated Marvel Cinematic Universe series Eyes of Wakanda, given its placement on the Marvel Studios timeline. Since the series is set prior to the current MCU continuity, it would be before Danny Rand’s introduction (and therefore, before Colleen Wing).

A more fitting choice could be Wu Ao-Shi, a character from the 16th century who was given the title of Iron Fist and was officially added to the Marvel Comics universe in 2006.

In Season 2 of Netflix’s Iron Fist, this particular character made an appearance earlier. This implies that she is already part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and might have a role to play in the upcoming animated series.

It could reasonably be expected that the Iron Fist character would appear in the series “Eyes of Wakanda“, possibly making one of its episodes an anthology set in 16th-century China, a period when the powerful character was said to have been active.
