According to insider Alex Perez, Marvel fans might have already gotten a glimpse of the studio’s plans for Black Suit Spider-Man. The black Symbiote suit is one of Spider-Man’s most recognizable looks, appearing throughout the character’s 63-year history. However, it hasn’t yet been seen in Marvel Studios‘ Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home hinted at the possible introduction of the Black Suit Spider-Man. A small amount of the Symbiote – the alien substance linked to Venom, as seen with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock – was left behind, suggesting a future storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there’s been talk that this could lead to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man wearing the famous black suit in Spider-Man 4, it’s still uncertain if that will happen.
During a recent Q&A session on his Cosmic Circus platform, Perez hinted that Spider-Man’s black suit could be coming to the MCU, and surprisingly suggested we might have already gotten a glimpse of it.
A reliable Marvel insider shared that a Symbiote Suit in the MCU would have a distinctly alien appearance. More surprisingly, they believe the final design will closely resemble concept art for Spider-Man previously created by MCU artist Thomas DuCrest – essentially a direct copy of his work.

In 2022, artist DuCrest shared his take on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as the Black Suit Symbiote version on his social media, showcasing how he imagined the Marvel Cinematic Universe character would look.
The new design offered a dark and realistic take on the traditional costume, with a strange, slimy texture and raised, contrasting veins covering the surface.
This suit is noticeably different from the one in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3. Although that earlier version also appeared slimy and fluid-like when not fully formed, once it became the suit, it just looked like a black version of his usual Spider-Man outfit.

According to Perez, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of the popular black suit will look significantly more alien and different from the classic design. While an artbook for Spider-Man: No Way Home showed a glimpse of a different black suit for Tom Holland, these new concept designs by DuCrest are even more unusual.
There’s buzz that the Symbiote – the alien that eventually becomes Venom – will appear in the next Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), the film might also include a team-up or conflict between the Symbiote and Michael Mando’s Scorpion.
What Does the MCU Have Planned for the Symbiote?

At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Symbiote officially entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During Eddie Brock’s (played by Tom Hardy) quick trip between universes, he unintentionally left a small part of the alien creature behind.
While the dangerous, living organism hasn’t encountered Tom Holland’s Spider-Man yet, it might in the future. There’s a possibility that the next three Spider-Man movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will feature the Symbiote Saga storyline, finally introducing the iconic black suit to the big screen.
Currently, the Symbiote appears to be bonding with some of Spider-Man’s enemies before targeting him. However, because of the alien substance’s desire for power, it won’t be able to resist Peter Parker for long once it focuses on him.
After the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker is isolated and vulnerable, creating the ideal opportunity for the Symbiote to attach itself to him. Initially, the alien substance gives Peter a boost in power, but he soon discovers the black suit isn’t as beneficial as it seems.
